As I stated earlier it would be a no brainer on Nebraska’s end certainly
Gill was Frost's QB coach at Nebraska. I could see him in that role again, and it is likely the only position coach job he would accept.
Could IM be waiting for this to happen? Maybe they already know something and then they won't need to tarnish HCTG image.

It used to be shooting and farming were more imprtant than an education for most Americans.

Only 3 in ten will use that degree. Odds are better with a trade school to be employed in your chosen field with less schooling and debt. Nothing against a solid traditional education but individuals should be more interested in considering their marketability before taking on a field of study.

While football is not more important it is what will bring more donors and students thus more funds to provide that education.

Now , after we hire Sumlin and Streeter we are bowling in two years.

I can't imagine him having a chance at another D1 HC gig. I mean, what does he say? Hey, I am a 6-5 coach that loses a couple of gimme games every year. After you pay me for 5-7 years, I will leave your program no better off than when I arrived and more likely, worse. Not the best resume.

I agree. I went to trade school and landed a job in operations at an oil refinery. My plan was to work in maintenance as an electrician or pump mechanic but the money was too good to pass up. I had GI Bill money to burn so I completed a degree through LUO in 2012.

At the end of the day folks take whatever job they can get to pay the bills.

Or learn basic arithmetic and numbers sense. A steep $6 million divided around just the 12k residential students is a whopping $500 per year. $250 per semester. Or use football as advertising and get more students. 500 more students(planned expansion)without lowering academic standards covers that $6m.

I doubt LU needs to get 500 more students to cover the 6 million. I'm just saying I've never been a fan of schools coughing up millions to buyout a coach. I think the money could be used for other things, but that's just me.

Yeah in trying to prove a point BYD actually help shed light on how priorities are so backwards. I'm part of the problem though so it's kind of hard for me to call anybody out.

What if competing and winning on the biggest stages of collegiate athletics brings exposure to university focused around Christ and a Christian way of life? And in turn, leading to countless thousands of young men and women to becoming not just followers of Christ, but leaders and influencers for Christ as a bulkhead against the relentless tide of secularism and degeneracy western culture faces. In turn, changing the world for Christ generations into the future in a way that only focusing on direct missions never could.

Should we buy food with our money? Or should we use our money to build the farms that produce the food?

Maybe that's naive on my part...but it's what I believe.
Maybe shorter, using money to purchase influence in one of the most celebrated Community activities(watching college football).

Remember, two players on the team got baptized just weeks ago. With Liberty's name recognition rising, how many "on the fence" youths( athlete, academic, or otherwise) will come to know Christ through the direct contact with people affiliated with the university?

Did Kentory Matthews know he would become a Christian when courted by Liberty football? And that's a prominent athlete. How many of the 100k total students don't have a personal relationship with Jesus?

That is exactly what I was stating months ago about using athletics to share the Gospel throughout the world. Maybe I didn’t say it in a way which some here understood, but it is a great way to share the Good News to people of all ages and creeds.

I attended an education conference in Hampton back in 1994. The first thing the attendees was told: " The most important person on campus is the Head Football Coach"

On the Streeter theory, are there NCAA rules preventing gentleman's agreements to let a coach finish the current season with his current team? For example, say Ian and Streeter all want the same thing but Streeter says, let me get that Natty again.

Yes, there are situations you will see during the postseason where coaches will be hired by a new school but finish out the conference championships, bowls and Playoff with a team. I expect to see some of that with Schiano finishing up with the Buckeyes before fully becoming engaged with the Vols.

Brandon is not coming to LU as anything other than head coach if that is what you are inferring.

Well, Dabo and Streeter are openly Christian That would be a huge coup ... miracle
Without us releasing our staff I find it hard that we are moving at all.

Leach is a possibility. Is it Price that assists him? ... many big 12 connections (did not research his contract)

There are so many faith based coaches guessing would be tough.

I would find it hard to believe we would bring in IM to stay the course but I have been wrong many times before.

He’s referring to some random rumor cooked up by Liberty people who have consistently shown they have no inside information despite their name that says it’s a Rocco/Streeter combo. There are so many reasons why that wouldn’t be true that it’s not even worth getting into.

If Venables lands one of these high profile gigs as head coach, Streeter is likely the next OC at Clemson. As Clemson Offensive Coordinator, Venables makes roughly double what Coach Gill currently is paid by LU. You do the math on how it makes sense for him to come to LU for anything other than as head coach.

I would never rule out a Rocco return to the mountain at some point in the future. Times have changed significantly on multiple fronts since his departure.

In the meantime, Coach Gill remains our head coach.

From what I have heard the answer would be a resounding "Yes!". Look at where Liberty is now in relation to where things were when he departed.

I am not sure that it is in either party's best interests. But the possibility of a Rocco return down the road is very real. And just to be clear that could be a decade from now theoretically speaking.
