I like that we haven't lost our poise. We aren't playing great D and are clearly tired but we are still getting good looks on O.

JC needs more playing time, he's got the stroke. I would give him 15 shots from 3 a game.

Evan with a transition layup. 70-60.

TTU missed 3.

Antwan strong move down low. 70-62.

Open man for 3, late hand in his face not enough. 73-62.

John Caleb misses a 3.

They get a SportsCenter alley-oop in transition. 75-62.

We miss a few times, grab the ball a few times, and a foul is eventually called.

Antwan with 2 FT's, 75-64 TTU.

Nice trap, then we foul. Chene with the foul. 1:15 left, we're going to try to get back into this...

TTU makes the first. 76-64.
and the second, 77-64.

Foul on TTU on the other end.

Evan makes the first. 77-65.
Makes the second. 77-66.

We foul again. Chene with the foul.

They make both. 79-66.

Evan with a 3. 79-69.

We continue to gain confidence and look better every game. We play hard and didn't give up. I am ok with this game. Another year and we will win some of these.

Evan is shooting 50% from the floor and JVP gave us some solid minutes. My expectations were met.

TTU shooting FT's again. :32 left.

Miss the front end. We miss a 3, but keep possession.

Phillips hesitates and takes a crazy 3 and misses.

We take 25 seconds to score 2 points, missing 3 or 4 shots.

79-71 TTU, final.

I'll take an 8 point loss to TTU where we look respectable the entire game.

We're moving in the right direction. By conference play I think we'll be alright.

I think this is an improved effort. After a few more games we will have a real team effort I think. The foul shooting needs work no doubt.

Very good start. Our depth was tested and came up lacking. Overall, not bad. Some great offensive displays at times, some of the same old mistakes, too.

There is improvement.

According to the boxcore, Carter didn't even get into the game. Does that make him our 4th string center--behind Burrus, JVP, & Sommy?

Texas Tech seems a little down this year when compared to year's past but still a good effort by LU today. We fought hard til the end. After watching todays game on Channel surfing I like what I see in Burris, both Sanders, Gordon, and Brown... TTU had too many easy inside scoring opportunities as they took advantage of their height. Need to do better at the line.

The season will tell the tale, but actually TTU was/is expecting to be BETTER than they have in a few years.

Yes, TTU has a senior laden team. We are still very young. We did good. Boys can hold their head high and keep working hard. Play Basketball

Guys, I missed this entire game due to a migraine-induced nap. But let me tell you that this was a VERY impressive performance. Tech will be a top half of the Big XII team in all likelihood this season. For us to play as well as we did in Lubbock has me extremely excited for the squad's potential in the coming weeks.

Let me add my kudos to the boys despite the loss...a few years ago we would have lost this game by 30 easy I think. to hang with a Big XII team for 40 full minutes definitely is a sign that this could be a very special team we have this year come conference time. Who's gonna be in the house for the BSC opener? I know I will be

I'd temper the "special" expectations. There's a lot of room to grow, a lot of things that need to be shored up. And our BSC peers are playing this well, too.

Presby was this close, if not closer, with Kansas State, who is a stronger team than TTU.

For me at least I am optomistic that we are better than the 6th best team, which is where the league picked us to finish.

I saw that Presby score, and it was an impressive outing to be sure. Kudos to their seniors for staying motivated knowing they have nothing to play for again. I haven't seen any other examples that stood out to me where BSC teams fared well against tough opponents. I know CCU got handled pretty well by a Georgetown team which probably will be a bit down this year.

Absolutely. I think we'll compete for a home game.

And CCU played G'Town well for a while.

UNCA beat Auburn (not that Auburn is awesome, but still an impressive win)

Winthrop "hung in there" against VCU.

Our league mates also have wins over the 5th and 8th teams in the OVC preseason poll.

Nothing incredible, but proving to be competitive.

just finished watching the game on espn3 and was very pleased with what I saw. I will be at the game on Tuesday and am so excited to see this team play as they continue to improve.
