Coastal got in one year: last year. They had two losses: Georgia Southern and a good Elon team. They had wins over Furman, SC State, and at Wofford. They only had no DII's.

Basically, all 11 games for them counted towards the playoffs. Only 9 of our games count towards the playoffs. Their OOC conference was MUCH better than ours. We understand why our OOC schedule is the way it is (a lot of schools wouldn't play us, some wanted too much money, some Coach Rocco didn't want us to play). However, with the way our schedule is, we have to win 8 of our 9 Division I games to even be in consideration, and even then we'll be borderline.

Yea, but if we post that kind of record, we should be more balanced on both sides of the ball. We'll have to, in order to win. CCU depended on the heroics of Thigpen, and if we end up 10-1, I'd say that we'll get there with a tough defense and a ball control running attack and hopefully some timely clutch drives from our QB. Which makes us vastly different from them. I'm tellin' ya, we can do it, man. Bring it on!

Coastal in 05 was based on Thigpen pulling stuff out of his butt. Last year, they just outgunned everyone.


No one should even be thinking playoffs right now. We need to be thinking about winning the close games. Until we win those, playoffs are out of the question.

True, but expectations are always high this time of year and we shouldn't pack it in until at least the second loss.
