New Mexico st. head coach Reggie Theus is the new Sac. Kings head coach. is that surprising to anyone? he did a great job over there in the WAC and had a really good class coming in this year.

That made me laugh! I loved that show because the basketball action was so corny and the lines were cliche'. Theus will do fine I think at Sacto. I don't know how we can possibly know who is fit for NBA coaching as compared to college until we see them succeed or fail on that level. Plenty of coaches at the college level you would think would do well at the next level didn't and vice versa.

At least Reggie has NBA street cred for having played in the league for several years and I believe also he has been an NBA assistant, so it's not like he's a "college guy".

Actually much of Reggie's street cred comes from his AAU experience. That means more to today's streetballers who are making up big chunks of rosters than legitimate coaching acumen.

And for the record Reggie was a well above average NBA player for a period of time.

Wow, i didn't even realize theus was a head coach at the college level. Last time I saw him was at the Reggie Theus All star game in Orlando back in 91. good for him though

Theus is going to have a big road ahead of him.. if Sac is successful in getting rid of Bibby and Artest, then they are going to be real thin.

Every recruit they landed was due to Theus' AAU connections. Now that he is gone they can return to being a doormat.
