Stealing some books from a bookstore over a year ago is forgivable by me (without having to 'prove' himself somewhere else). He'd be still under probation for another year so I'd doubt he'll be breaking any laws anytime soon or else he'd be facing 9 more months.

This seems like a kid who made a stupid mistake. When I was at LU an RA of all people was kicked out for doing the same EXACT thing. It's not like we can pigeon hole this guy. There is no excuse for his behavior but I think we should give him an opportunity here. This type of thing is what LU could be known for and really change the perception of Christian colleges.

Yes hold our standards. Yes punish those who violate those standards. Yes, forgive people and give them another opportunity. As he sees the spiritual climate at LU he may just very well have his life changed forever.

I'll admit that my experience in seeing guys get second chances at LU has been mixed. They haven't always followed Vince's path. But thankfully we serve a God of second chances.

All I know is I trust Coach Rocco. If he feels that he is a good fit for our school and brings him in then ok. Coach Rocco is not going to bring someone into his program that will harm the integrity of it.

I have no problem with kids who didn't get a fair chance at another school transferring (Stevie Ray) or kids wanting to come home (Rashad). The "Transfer U" part I have a problem with is kids that get in trouble coming and transferring here. Coach Rocco won't let that happen, but that's the "Transfer U" I have a problem with.

Medic he was looked upon by many UVa fans as being their next go-to wide receiver. His first two years he didn't play much, and his junior year was supposed to be his break out year. If I remember correctly, he was plagued by several nagging injuries his junior season.

Liberty won't put out any sort of official release until they are actually enrolled in school and their paperwork is taken care of.
