This would be their 4th title in 9 years. They were the first team to win after the Bulls 2nd 3-peat. Then the Lakers 3-peated, and the Spurs "de-throned" them. Then the Pistons, and then the Spurs again. The Heat last year, and more than likely the Spurs this year.

They have stood the test of time. Their first title was right after MJ retired. They withstood Kobe and Shaq. One of (if not the) their leaders retired. They have withstood free agency. 4 titles in 9 years! That's more than the Lakers had with Kobe and Shaq.

As someone who covered the team for about a decade and who is close enough to keep general tabs on them, I would concur that they are somewhat of a dynasty. Just not one of the more significant one. They are a step up from the overrated Bad Boys.

I don't think you can be a dynasty without at least going back-to-back. Team of the decade? Perhaps. If they win it again next year, I would probably think differently.
