Sly Fox wrote:First the good news ... it appears the details are being worked out to have every home game carried live on the Liberty Channel (and consequently WDRL) this fall. This is a tremendous step forward for the program that is long overdue. It will also be a great recruiting tool for the staff.Wow, I somehow missed this thread until now, and I've only read your post. You have got to be kidding me right. Who would you have preferred, Ray Jones? And how in the world could you prefer Jerry "I never give the score" Edwards? Have you heard Jerry lately? He stumbles all over the place now! Dennis is a great play-by-play guy and the folks at Liberty Channel have been trying to get him back on games at a higher rate for years. He is the most watched and best Loved on air talent WSET has and probibly the best ever here. Now I'm riled up. I will now pull myself out of this fight because he is also a great friend of mine. I still can't believe this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the bad news, Dennis Carter has been tabbed for the broadcast team. I'm not kidding. Get ready for more mangled names and nonchalance generally reserved for Division III games. I guess I'll have to get two media players running simultaneously to run Jerry Edwards audio with the volume turned down on the video stream. Would it be that hard to get someone who actually gives up a rip about Liberty to be paid by the school to call the games?
Sly Fox wrote:Sorry for turning this into sportscaster hatefest it became. You would think me of all people would avoid it. But alas I can't help but voice my frustration. As for Ray, he's good people and does a credible job.Again, you have got to be kidding. Bash DC and praise Ray Jones. I can't take it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Libertine wrote:As one can see, Carter inspires blood loyalty in his admirers. If he ever started a cult, you would all be in trouble.I'm already the founder Lib. Thanks for you're vehement support earlier in the thread. I'd love to hear the audio that is being referred to with DC butchering names.![]()
(I say "you" not "we", because I will have joined his movement.)
(Did you ever watch some of those MAC games on WDRL).I used to love listening to Sonny Randall when we was doing the Marshall games for the MAC.

Sly Fox: "Get ready for more mangled names and nonchalance generally reserved for Division III games.". I can HONESTLY say I enjoy hearing him call games, can you really do that with any of the other choices over the years? (with the possible exception of Mike Tilly).
