I'm not trying to sell anyone on the idea of extended warranties; I'm just giving you the perspective of a Mac user who was nearly screwed over.
Manufacturer's extended warranties are not always a bad thing. Retailer extended warranties almost always are a bad thing. I've read a lot of stories about Best Buy arbitrarily deciding who's "service plan" they will honor and who's they want. It's in the fine print. Just because you paid them money doesn't mean they have to do anything for you. Sad but true.

you have so many different options to contact you. Do you really have all of those messangers up at once all the time?

He probably has Adium or Gaim, or something similar.

I used Adium. It signs me into all of those services with just one buddy list. So, yes.

I used to use Trillian to do the same thing.

Trillian is a bloated memory hog. Blech. It does work. But I don't like that they charge you to use Jabber. That's beyond ridiculous.

Instant messaging is a lifesaver for me.

I don't understand anything, anymore.

I don't believe any of those terms you just used were actually English.

I think you people are actually Ferengi or Klingon.

The fact that you know enough about what those are to call us that means that you're at least somewhat as geeky as us.

If Best Buy is of the devil, than it looks like I will be getting some prime real estate with a great view of the lake of fire. I LOVE Best Buy. I have had absoluely 0 problems with ANY of the multiple ones I have purchased items from. For instance:
In Chicago, I got my first home theatre syetem for $150, instaed of 900 b/c of a computer glitch. The guy said, buy it now before someone notices. I bought it, a week later it went on "sale" for 800!
36" Tube TV. Had two problems with it and they replaced it
I was going to buy an expensive ($500) vacuum cleaner but the sales person talked me into one for $329. Works like a champ, gets all of the dog hair up and our Golden LOVES to be vacuumed now.
I have purchased 4 computers 5 TV's 2 Home theatre systems, 2 game systems, a camera, iPod, PDA, vacuum, washer, dryer, refrigerator, 3 car stereo's, XM, who knows how many cd's (Mrs Purple LOVES iTunes now!) and video games, about 4 DVD players, 4 VCR's, and who knows what else over hte years
BEST BUY does not have "top of the line" equipment, but at this stage in my life I don't need it. They sell "good" stuff and that is OK by me. As for the extended warranty, you need to be judicious. On a remote? Dont make me laugh. A computer, probably not worth it. I do have one on my laptop, b/c I beat the poopy out of it and it has been beneficial. The key is to look at replacement cost compared to the cost of the warranty. In the near future, which is actually getting to be the distant future, when I get the 50-+" plasma, I will have to mull over the warranty.
I guess I ll see you in hell LOL

Oh don't worry...I'll be sure its drafted better than the one I won the competition with. Or I'll custom draft it, depending on the amount of head he wants.

Ah crap...I just got home tonight and realized what I posted...for those who don't know, a lot of beer drinkers, when speaking of their beverage, refer to head as the foam thats on top of the beer.

No amount of tipping could make me give HenryGale the other type :vomit

I'm really not that old.

I just have the back and knee (and shoulder, now that I think about it) of a 90 yr old
