Anyone think Peter and Paul and those guys were doing the Jerry chant when he walked up to the gates?

Dr. Falwell always had time to talk to you. It didn't matter how long the line was of people to speak to him, he always had time. He always loved being around the kids, that's what his passion was for, the youth. He has left his mark on this world, this country, this state, this university, and my life.

Man I wish someone had gotten a picture of me feeding him that hot dog at homecoming.

That's by-far my best memory of him.

Very sad day, I am still in shock. It is extremely hard to concentrate on work now.
God has accomplished great things through Jerry, he will be greatly missed.

My wife just got back from the 2pm service. She said it was standing room only including the balcony. I think his memorial will need to be held in the stadium.

Graduation will be standing room only, as well. I'm coming up there as soon as I can.

I sat down one night last year around 8 PM after the kids went to bed and started reading Dr. Flawell's autobiography. I read it cover to cover in one night/morning. I couldn't put it down. His focus was incredible. Just thinking back at how easy it is for me to waiver back and forth or be wishy washy on a stance. Not only did he stand firm but he did it in front of millions. Dr. Falwell was real. I still laugh when I think of SJ giving him that hot dog at Homecoming this past year. My 4 year old daughter always ask if we are going to Jerry Falwell's church on Sunday. I feel very blessed. I have read his books and then cross referenced to scripture - the man was always on solid ground. You might not like what he said - but I always felt Jerry said it in a loving way.

i had to tell some of these groups to get a life. That just makes me infuriated. Their family is going through a shocking and difficult time and these people who are creating these groups have no heart whatsoever.

I'm just a new flame, but my heart aches for the loss I feel. May Dr Falwell's death mark the rise of 1,000s more Jerry Falwells, willing to stand strong for Jesus and make an impact on this world.

At TRBC recently he said, "When your memories are bigger than your dreams, you've already begun to die." Doc is one person who a sudden passing is the only appropriate passing, because he never stopped dreaming enormous dreams. Probably never would, either.

Here's to you, Dr Falwell. And here's to Jesus, who's introducing you to His father and showing you around your new home.

I just got back from the service at TRBC...I am as many of you...very much speechless...I don't know what to say and part of me doesn't really believe....I have not always seen eye to eye with Jerry, but last summer I got the privilege of talking to him numerous times...he was an amazing guy and a heart as big as anybody....

I called my mom and told her about it and tears even came into my eyes...I never thought I would be this upset about Dr. Falwell passing away....but man, its tough....thats about all I can say

He influenced so many people for Christ and its just hard to put into words....

He will be missed...but LU will be stronger then ever simply because he laid such an amazing foundation

we love you Jerry....thanks for everything you did for us...I hope we do you proud in years to come

Scar had his lens cap on so he didn't get a picture of it.

That man ate the hot dog so fast.

Here's to having another one at the homecoming game in the sky.

Agreed on all counts. Today is a day to spend with Liberty family paying tribute to the great man that we know Dr. Falwell was.

I echo the last 5 pages.

Got a frantic Nextel from another alum a little over an hour ago and just sat down.

needless to say, speechless.

didn't expect this.

Typical Jerry, though- always unexpected! (trying to find someway to laugh about it)

God bless him- he's resting now- happy for him.

I'd like to think he was like "hey God, where did you get those michigan banners that are all over your house? i need the hookup on some LU banners"

he's already arguing Yankees vs. Red Sox.

only a couple weeks ago GMTM was torturing him by threatening to give him a Boston T-shirt and I offered to get him matches to burn the thing.

What a shock of his passing, but it was not a shock to God, he had this time planned and my prayers are with the Falwell family and the LU family. May God lead Jonathan and Jerry Jr to follow on with their Father's vision. I am so thankful for Jerry's ministry and count it a blessing I was involved with the early years of LBC.

Jerry's heart was always with Liberty Mtn, knowing that, he passed away at the place he loved the most. He was surrounded by those he loved and loved him, his LU students, staff and family.

I can see Jerry's mom greeting him at the pearly gate as soon as he passed away.

Also if it was not for Jerry, Lynchburg Va would be just a dot on the US atlas.

I'm glad he got to see TRBC on Liberty mountain. That was one of his big goals (or should I say BHAG).
