T-shirts being sold after the game. Good thing we won

The front has the "A Decade of Excellence", while the back is the other picture.
Did anyone who watched the game on TV hear if they mentioned the fact that Courtney Watkins had a concussion from last night?
I just watched it on TIVO and I don't think they mentioned the concussion -- I just finished my S curve and it lands us with Mich St, the #17 overall w/ us as the #48 team and the last #12 ---- FSN we will have to compare notes before the big show Monday, but I agree w/ you that w/ BYU lurking as my #19 overall seed, it will be tough for the committee to ignore that matchup.

Tucson! Tucson! Tucson! (c'mon everyone chant with me!)

Or Trenton ... I could stand to play some poker in A.C.

Tucson is a possibility, although I don't have us going there... I have UConn and Rutgers as the high seeds in Trenton and we wouldn't fall into that bracket.

Here is my prediction...

(Still a couple tournaments tomorrow could affect it... so far from a perfect science... but fun to talk about none the less.)

I think you are right about Chicago and the 12 seed. From what I have real online that seems to be the concensus for LU. Tucson would be nice though.

Best part about the t-shirts is that they were only $10.

If you live near Lynchburg, you can probably pick one up from Universal T's. They are the ones who made them. Perhaps the bookstore may care them, but unfortunately I wouldn't hold my breath on that and even if they do, they most likely won't be $10. That's why I jumped at the chance to pick one up after the game. It can be so hard at times to get a hold of such items.

They will be on sale tomorrow night at the selection show Flames Club dinner in the Vines Center. The event will begin at 6pm, culminating with the selection show on the big screens at 7pm. Admission is $5 for Flames Club members and $30 for non-Flames Club members. If you cannot make it to the show you can contact Heather Mitchell in the ticket office at 434.582.SEAT...I would imagine there will be advertising on the Flames website as well.

The female official was prtetty weak throyghout the night, I thought. The penchant about 5 years ago made by the NCAA to get at least one female ref to each game ended up biting them in the butt, big-time. Many within the game will tell you too many times, the ladies have screwed things up. Not saying there aren't quality female refs out there - just not enough to have at leats one cover every game.

But the big thing was that on Allyson's final shot, she could've been called on a push-off. Part experience, part the refs allowing the players to decide the end....she did a fine job, and hit a huge shot.

Ralls has a reputation for being easy to flop around... I'm not sure if it is intentional or just because she is so tiny, so it would have been hard for her to get a call there unless Allyson just pushed her down Jordon style vs. Utah's Russel. (Sorry, still bitter about that one.)

$30 dollars!?!?!?!?! The food is not worth 30 bucks unless they have some fancy restaurant catering for them.

That is right... the deal is that the event is exclusive to Flames Club members... it costs members 5 bucks. If you are not a member you can become one for a 25 dollars donation plus the 5 dollar event fee equals 30 dollars.

Well I guess all of the parents of the team have to pay that price of $30. Well I am going to have my own party at home and watch the selection show by myself. I think that for this one event, this should not be just exclusively for flames club members. At least if one has to pay it could be around 10 or so dollars but anyway. GMTM will you have that special NCAA show on Tomorrow?

LU vs BYU. Just what Dr. Falwell has wanted, compete with the likes of BYU. Would be kinda cool, especially if we take them down. Any prediction FSN on the outcome if that does become the matchup?

They have three big time scorers... a big post, a guard that shoots lights out and a forward that does everything well, inside and out, putting up 17 a game.

We would have to find some offense and keep turnovers down plus they can rebound, so our advantage there may not be very big.

Our defense would keep us in the game... they are beatable, but if we have a scoring lapse like the last two games, we get toasted.

I just hope that this is the match-up... it may be our best shot against the pool of 4-6 seeds.

It will take a special shooting performance for this team to win in the NCAA's this year unless they draw the right team. Scoring has been a problem ever since Megan went down with the injury. If we can't score more than 55 points or so in the Vines Center vs Big South competition (which by the way was as high as the 13th best conferene in RPI), it will be tougher shooting in a big venue vs a team with bigger, more athletic players that can rebound well. Our rebounding and defensive FG percentage allowed this team to overcome its short comings at the offensive end. 20 turnovers a game and no double figure scorers to speak of does not look like a formula for a run to the Sweet 16. I really hope we do it again and getting a 12 seed could go a long way towards at least a first round win but we will have to wait and see.
