DD didn't want to play second fiddle to LB; or to put it in DD's language, he wanted to be "Batman, not Robin."

He may have said that, but Dees was better (offensively) than Larry. Larry didn't blossom into the Larry we know now til his junior.

The whole Larry vs Dees debate has happened over and over again....Dees was a better shooter..could post up....Blair better at creating his own shot and playmaker...together they could've been great...but oh well, such is life...

Notice the phrase, "coulda been great." Now, take note of a recent tandem that actually was great: Bradshaw and Martin. Contrast the efforts on the court and you'll find in Martin and Bradshaw a much higher level of loyalty and commitment directed to the program rather than themselves. So, again, talent and ability are only a part of the equation when it comes to winning. We had the commitment part back when Martin, Woodson, Sarchet and Mantlo were here.
