Goodness I remember 3 or 4 times where the National Anthem sounded absolutely horrible at the end, but back to the intro, it would be nice to get something put together. Also personal opinion something like the music to the football clip shown at convo would work.

I have no trust that Dr. Kerr could be creative enough to come up with something that would be motivating to the team and/or fans. A little history.........

I played for the LCA football team when Mister Kerr was the LCA band director. The majority of the time (10+ times per game) that the band played during the games, the NOISE was a rendition of Michael W. Smith's "Musical Instruments". The featured instrument was the xylophone. IT WAS HORRIBLE and DEMOTIVATING!!!! I still have nightmares when I hear that song. My secretary just downloaded and played about 15 Smitty songs to try to find this song and I was instantly taken back to my high school football days when I heard it. I didn't know the name of it, but I knew it when I heard it. It pained me.

Please excuse me while I RANT. Obviously, this struck a nerve. (Sidenote: I am beginning to think that I may need counseling about this) We tried to talk to Mr. Kerr about the song selection, because it actually became a distraction to players on the team. He was not interested in making any changes whatsoever.

UGGGGGGGGGGGH!! I can't write any more about this. For those of you that were high school football players, go online and try to listen to a demo of Michael W. Smith's "Musical Instruments", close your eyes and imagine a 20 person band, featuring the xylophone player. It really makes you want to hit somebody. If you listen to it, please respond and let me know your opinion of the song (in the context of being played for football games).

I know i've said it before on here, but you have to have some kind of hip-hop music for the basketball team to come into...even if it's some type of instrumental, it just has to be hip-hop.

You can't...If I have an opinion I want the people to have no doubt its me when I say something. I will readily admit that the spirit band is nto the best at the national anthem (I much prefer the marching band sound of it). and I will also admit that Dr Kerr is not perfect when it comes to music choice (heck it was a stretch for him to use some of the songs we had for marching band the last couple years). I will readily admit that I would never expect Dr Kerr to be the person to write anything for athletic purposes (for things like player intros etc.) He is doing the very best he can to ensure we have the best music to put out in both marching band and pep band and the best people to perform it, whether he writes it or not.
