Former assistant there, and not just named any assistant again, but rather “head coach-in-waiting”.
And we all know that always works out as planned.

Haha! Fair point. Just saying, great program resources at a bball school. And they hand-picked a successor they knew. They made it really worth his while to go back. He wouldn’t have made that move to anywhere else.

Something just popped into my head regarding the Aquino situation, and I can't get it out. Manson (who is without a doubt the closest thing we have to a true insider here) revealed that Owen had an offer for "3 times what we can pay" over a week before he actually entered the transfer portal.

How does that happen?
Doesn't a player have to be officially in the portal before a school can approach him with an offer?
I understand that athletes have always been allowed to talk to other schools if they are the one initiating contact, but..........................?
Was Owen (or his agent) contacting multiple schools and soliciting offers before announcing his intent publicly?
I suspect this would be legal, but it certainly seems to defeat the purpose of the portal to make these things more open and transparent.

Doesn’t matter. Can’t believe everything you hear, especially when it pertains to money.

Manson is a real LU Armchair coach, the rest of us are wannabe LU Armchair coaches. I had 2 college coaches contact me about a kid wondering if he would leave for money before the portal opened. I didn’t tell the kid. I think this happens everywhere.

Tax deductible nonetheless. Also, the additional monies are to be allocated to the McKay Family Hair-Care Initiative

The total LU endowment may not be enough to rescue that hairline

There is both football and basketball info in this video, But I just decided to put it here because IMHO the most interesting tidbit is that he seems to feel like MBB is finished with recruiting and will hold onto a roster spot (just in case) for Peter, while filling the other with a "walk-on type" player. We already have one of those IMHO with Shirer, but whatever.

Correct HCRM will use one spot for a manager/walk on player. Curtis Blair is looking like heading to Cedarville with Coach Jones, Jaylen Davis & Will Gibson Liberty connection. The hiccup is UNG got in the mix yesterday, so this one got a little messy.

2025-26 full schedule is out.

https://www.aseaofred.com/liberty-relea ... -schedule/
https://libertyflames.com/sports/mens-b ... l/schedule

Non D1 games are always a point of contention, and this year we have 3, which is one more than I prefer. Yes I know there are a lot of zealots who say there should be none, but the bottom line is you need home games, and the option is D1 bottom feeders, which may present a bit more of a challenge on the court, but come with other issues.

Great to see 2 quality non conference road opponents who are NOT part of a tournament! (NC State and Dayton). The Dayton game is the first of a home and home.

All in all, I think our non conference is an upgrade from the last couple of years. That may be offset if C-USA is a bit down, which IMHO is very possible.

Overall I think it’s a pretty good schedule. I’m with you in that I think 2 non D1 games is sufficient and not a bad thing. Gives bench players an opportunity to get some court time and give the players a break from pounding on each other.

Side note - I was Today years old when I found out I could synch the schedule directly to my Calendar! No more typing in each individual game into it! It’s a beautiful thing
