Define "pronounced".
Exactly what you saw in that early tourney, where Ihnen started to emerge as a necessity. But only amplified further w/Smith added to the equation.

LU Armchair coach reflection with #'s on those 3 games.

Aquino numbers Ihnen numbers
21 MPG 24 MPG
9.3 PPG 12.3 PPG
4.3 RPG 4.3 RPG
2.3 APG .3 APG
.3 BPG .3 BPG
2.3 TOPG 1 TOPG
1 SPG 1 SPG

IMO these 3 games are a wash.
3 mins more for Ihnen.
3 Points more for Ihnen.
Rebounding, Blocks & Steal are even.
2 more assist for Aquino
2 more turnovers for Aquino

The last 2 are because of the way LU coaches staff is utilizing Aquino.

Paradox are we missing something that the rest of us LU Armchair coaches are not seeing?

You can’t see it because you don’t want to. Again, writing was on the wall early. Some people paid attention.

Ok, this LU Armchair coach is listening to ya. Please tell me what all the LU Armchair coaches that post in this forum & X missed since obviously paradox was the only poster paying attention.

Seems like an LU Armchair coach told me one time that we needed culture players and this LU Armchair coach questioned why spend the money on scholarships knowing the said culture players wouldn't play.

High Point has money, plus they don't have to pay for football players. And let's not forget the free ice cream 8) , but this leads me to believe Paradox is right about his role being likely to diminish here. That should not be an issue at HP. Another possibility is that he was not totally comfortable with the culture, and that's OK too.

High Point does have money!! This isn’t about money nor is this about playing time. And I disagree with Paradox and you about playing time being diminished. I do believe HCRM is a very good person, but he does have a job and it depends on winning. You think he isn’t telling all these recruits they’re going to play?

Why does the LU Armchair coach bother you so bad? Isn’t this what we all are doing on this forum is putting our Armchair Coach experience in all these comments.

Gotta be honest. I had never heard the term "armchair coach" until you showed up here, and that covers over 60 years of sports fandom.

"Armchair quarterback" is another matter.

Not the first time I've had this reaction to one of your posts, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
I'm not sure I understand what any of that means. :dontgetit
As far as what Ritchie is telling recruits, I have the fullest confidence he is being totally up front with them, and the bottom line is always "playing time is earned, and defense is the priority".
As far as his job being dependent on winning is concerned, looks to me like that's exactly what he is doing Play Basketball

Unusual situation at HP is that their coach just left after winning the BSC championship to be an ASSISTANT at Creighton.

oldflame we all have what we think is an expert opinion, and I thought with this being Liberty the name LU Armchair coach fit just perfect with all the post from the other experts on topics they really know nothing about.

Ritchie is one of the finest coaches in the business not referring to x & o's. Defense is what allows playing time & trust. I believe one of the recruits leaving this year was told another story when he came and i am not saying this is Aquino because it is not him.

This is exactly what I'm thinking and have always thought. Who sat when Peter came in? We have two really good bigs coming in next year and I think his roll was going to be much smaller...

Can you drop the schtick for two seconds? I actually don't mind you when you forget to work in those three magic words five times in every post.

Since we're all afraid of mentioning specific names, just like middle school girls, I'm not worried about Aquino. He was really good during conference play, then completely disappeared.

Or perhaps another larger school offered the 3X amount and when push came to shove they said "Sorry, we've found someone else". HP was maybe a fallback option for him. Just a thought - I have absolutely no inside info like some seem to think they do.

That's a scenario I had thought of as well. There is no doubt a lot of back and forth on these things at times.

Needs to be recalibrated. Computations are yielding an unusually high degree of inaccurate information lately.

Former assistant there, and not just named any assistant again, but rather “head coach-in-waiting”.
