Solid win 73-63, with Metheny scoring 19, Porter 16, and Cleveland and Aquino both coming just short of a double double. Still went with a short rotation, with only 25 minutes off the bench, mostly from Peter. Not nearly as big a difference as Thursday, as MTSU did not use their reserves as much as WKU did. Yates and McKay got a few minutes each and did not score, but also had no turnovers. We did have as much as a 19 poin.t lead, which was cut to 10, but the outcome was never in doubt.

We got a bit of a hint as to how things are going to go in C-USA this year as WKU got clobbered by the FIU team that lost to MTSU Thursday. I think it's going to be a wild ride.

When we are getting clean looks from three, collectively we hum. But there are stretches where we dtand around and have guys trying to take it off the bounce all by themselves. Very frustrating to watch. At least our FTs were better to keep this from getting too stressful.

I thought we played well last night. To me a big difference between this game and the Hiltopper game was Middle didn’t attack us as much with drives to the basket. I’m expecting this to pick back up with most Conference games. If we can defend this well we will be fine. If not, the outcomes will be similar to the WKY game.

The refs allowed more physical play last night. MTSU did try to drive the lane, but there weren’t as many whistles.

My main takeaway from the game is that if we want Cleveland to hit his foul shots he needs to be ticked off for.
