My comment did? Not sure how it could be read that way, as it was clearly explained what I meant. Both teams we've played so far were built like ASUN teams. All offseason we heard about how CUSA teams are much longer and athletic. We got bullied in the backcourt last year, so it just seems a bit odd to me that we would start both of our guards that are well short of 6' against CUSA teams.

The premise that Porter/Methany cannot and will not play at the same time was never true and fails to recognize clear elephants in the room last season.

Acquino's game is loaded with intangibles. The steal at the end was clutch, but the deft bounce pass that he delivered from the low post to Metheny, in motion, at the top for 3, may have been even more so. Especially, given the context, with Porter forced out for that critical possession after taking a blood-drawn blow to the face.

The kid seems to have a 6th sense on the court at various points in the game...
Porter was gliding through their tough match up zone, finding nearly every leak, and creating offensive opportunities all over the place. He thoroughly frustrated them.

Talk about a blast from the past...WOW!!! I'll never forget that game at VMI when he dropped something like 40 points against the Keydets in Lexington! Play Basketball :oldhag
2 obvious similarities are that both are JUCO transfers and they are about the same size. Their games are very different. Ace was a tremendous finisher and maybe a bit more athletic. Aquino is way more versatile, and his skill set is on a different level.
Fair enough. I got to watch the Seattle game and didn't see the similarities either. But that highlight of his first basket had me wondering. There were a few games where Ace would just dominate on post moves and offensive rebounds, I hope Aquino can give us some glimpses of that.

Our current roster is better equipped to make adjustments if some teams start to exploit the small backcourt, but Metheny and Porter are clearly 2 of our best offensive players, and I expect they will continue to play a lot, including some minutes where they are both on the court.

Watched the Seattle game. Not impressed at all. 8 points in the first 11 minutes, not fluid with their movement, etc. Early in the season, hope it was a case of not playing together much.

Slow start? Sure. Were you unimpressed with the finish?
I would not be surprised as the season unwinds to see this ending up as one of our better wins.
