It is looking like HCHF is headed for the unemployment line soon. He is looking like a moron on the sidelines here lately at Auburn.

Hugh Freeze after getting fired at Auburn

Image

I have no ill will toward the guy. In fact I was hoping to see him do well at Auburn. I'm thankful for the trajectory he put this program on but I'm glad he left when he did. Chadwell is the right guy at the right time for this program.

I've long thought this was as well. I hope he figures out how to get his players under control soon.

Which brings up an interesting question. At this juncture would the program be in better hands with HF or JC?

JC. HCHF was always looking for the next big thing. His eyes were always on the SEC.

I don't think it really matters. They are both good coaches and we'd be in good shape regardless. I don't think we'd have made it to the fiesta bowl with HF though.

Which he will likely be fired [again] pretty soon. Auburn is....Auburn. Will he retire? Who knows. Maybe Miss. State will give him a call

Chadwell all the way. We have to figure some things out at the moment but he is the Coach we needed/need and I pray that he is here a long time.

I'm thankful for everything that HCHF did on the mountain, and I firmly believe he was uniquely situated to bring the program as far forward as he did during a transitionary phase. Still, HCJC is the long-term culture fit here if we can keep him around. Recent losses notwithstanding, I've really enjoyed watching this staff.

HCHF will get another year. He inherited a dumpster fire from Harsin, who pretty openly expressed his distaste for recruiting and, therefore, didn't spend much energy doing so. He has a ton of talent coming in and will get a chance to use it.

That said, I'd be up for inquiring about Josh Aldridge again if/when Auburn decides to pursue a new regime.

:clapping :clapping

The HF offense was choppy at times and I didn't like the way he managed the QBs when there wasn't a clear #1 after Malik left. That being said, I think he did a pretty good job on the personnel side, particularly on defense with Symons and then Aldridge. Our defenses were stout in those years and the recruiting was great. The front 6/7 were particularly lethal and it seemed we got to opposing QBs regularly with our front 4.

Freeze definitely mismanaged Salter while he was here. The best thing to happen to Salter's future is that HF left for Auburn.
