As a Packer fan I’m excited, except he’s not playing anytime soon unless Jordan Love gets hurt.

It would have been nice to have him go somewhere with an aging or weaker starter but QBs get hurt all the time and it seems like this Packers want him as a backup so he may get a chance.

Honestly, I think this is the best case for him.

The Titans were never the right fit. Vrabel wanted an under-center, clean footwork, game manager-type at QB, and it didn't help that the GM who picked him was immediately sent packing and replaced by someone who immediately drafted "his" guy.

The Packers scheme will be much more familiar to Malik and will give him plenty of RPO looks. They have a great recent history of development at QB. He won't be expected to start, but won't be fighting for his life just to stay on the squad like he was in Tennessee with Tannehill/Levis and Levis/Rudolph.

Wish him the best.

This is where most of the above quotes came from:

I will say Malik seems a little down. Gotta be hard to be on a grind for years with a lot of negativity towards him and being somewhat surprise traded. Keep your head up!

This seems like his best opportunity yet.
That this is perhaps the most disappointed I've ever seen Malik in an interview says a lot about how he has carried himself the last several years and beyond.

Hopefully GB is the right fit!

Going from living in Nashville to now living in Green Bay would depress me too! He will be on the field in December and January. Yikes!
He will be fine when he realizes he’s going to a much better organization

Everything happens for a reason. When one door closes, another opens. I hope the Packers creates offensive plays that suits Malik and uses his tools to play football. Or let Malik play his game.

I'm psyched to see him with the Pack. I was born in WI, and grew up a Packer fan (my uncle lived in Appleton and had now unobtainable season tickets for 40 years before he got too sick to go to the games.) Obviously, a healthy Love means he will not play much, but it's clearly a much better offensive system for him and since it appears he will be their QB2, there is an opportunity for Malik to shine if Jordan should get injured.

Not a good start to his packers career. Got in the game with a minute left, down by 5 and he throws a bad incomplete pass and takes a sack to end the game. It remains to be seen how bad the Love injury is but hopefully this leads to him getting the start next week.

I’m not so sure starting this soon is good for him. Might be worse for him to start a few weeks into learning a new offense.

That field was atrocious. Not sure you can read anything into it. But he’s got a shot now to prove himself and I 100% hope he does!

Kricket wrote: September 7th, 2024, 9:14 pm It looks like Malik may get a 3-4 week audition at minimum if the sources in the article are correct. That assumes the Packers don’t go out and get a veteran like Ryan Tannehil.
