Impressive bio on the NM site. Other than this year, what has he done to warrant being canned?

Of course, this jumped out at me...
In fact, of the 11 Lobos that have completed their eligibility since Ritchie McKay took over the New Mexico program, eight have receive their diplomas. The other three - Douglas, Granger and Javin Tindall - are all playing professional basketball at some level.
He also has his own personal web site...

and finally, a story about his dismissal...

...in which the following REALLY jumps out at me:
The Lobos opened the season 5-0 with what McKay said was his most talented team at New Mexico. But UNM, apparently beset by internal problems, began to struggle and quickly fell out of the conference race.
McKay and Athletics Director Paul Krebs have had a number of discussions over the past months, Harris said, citing in particular several discipline issues among the players.
If this a coach who has had discipline issues, or even rumors of issues, I do not think we need more of what I've seen rumored around LU the past 5 years. I officially vote NO on this "candidate."
