And to be clear, I'm not saying policy doesn't matter. I'm saying it isn't the only thing. It has become the only thing pretty obviously because valuing character would have cost the Rs an election, and we can't have that. In 2011, Evangelical voters were most likely to say that character matters in their elected leaders. In 2017, they were the least likely to say it. When it would have required sacrifice, it was abandoned.

I think the Anabaptists have some good ideas
So you’re starting the conversation from a position of being disingenuous. At least we’ve cleared that up

Gay marriage pushed by the democrat party affected that and the need to get conservative judges appointed onto the SC. Trump did that, even with his bad behaviors, bad attitude, bad character, and bad hair. Traditional marriage and life is what brings out conservatives. Trump being the only president to ever address the March for Life rally in person.

Franklin Graham

We need to pray for our country and where it is headed. The left in Washington and across the country just can’t get their fill of attacking Donald Trump. They are so paranoid of him. The onslaught against him is continual. There’s no question, the media and the left manipulated the last election, and they are scared to death of Donald Trump’s possible return. So, night after night, the media runs negative stories about former President Trump. Now they're talking about the possibility of arresting him in the hopes that this would prevent him from running for president again—this would be a huge mistake. The charges against him are definitely politically motivated.

I would like to ask Christians across this country to pray specifically for former President Donald J. Trump, that God’s hand would be upon him, protect him, and direct him in every step he takes—and that God’s will be done. We need to work together to strengthen this nation—not divide and destroy it.

Bro. He has skirted the law his entire professional career. He will do it again here. He will be ok. So will our country. I'm sure the republican party will support him even more now. He wants this to happen.

I’m not even sure what he did to be indicted was even a crime. There’s a lot of unclear issues involved and previous Prosecutors declined to pursue this because of that ambiguity. This is just a guy going after Trump and saying ‘See? I did SOMETHING “.
This is purely a Political stunt and only boosters Trump. The Left simply doesn’t want him to go away. He’s very good for their fundraising and increases their own exposure to the media. If they simply ignored him he would have faded away yelling into the wind. Now? He’s gonna be hard to beat in 24

I mean it is a crime and why Cohen went down but is the juice worth the squeeze? No. Out of all the legally questionable things he's done his whole career, this seems small.

But he has essentially been begging to be charged because he knows the kind of momentum it'll give him. Which is why I found TH's posts so comical. Trump got exactly what he wanted. The republican party was ready to move on. This brings them back.

I don't think he wins in 24. DeSantis gives Republicans a better shot but Trump doesn't care about that.

If the story that Donald Trump was being indicted for “business fraud” broke 10 years ago, everyone in the entire country would have thought “yeah, that makes sense.” That makes it pretty clear to me that all this pearl clutching about the indictment being politically motivated is…politically motivated.

Cohen is why lots of Prosecutors passed on pursuing the case. His credibility is shot.
He was also convicted of tax evasion, false statements to banks and not properly reporting his reimbursements from the Trump Campaign which is a violation of campaign finance laws
Paying hush money is SOP for any and all campaigns do this. Not really illegal to essentially pay for an NDA

I agree this helps Trump. He is ok with it. He now has a Boogey Man to fight and that’s when he is at his best and most effective. One of the main reasons Team Biden won the WH is because they never gave Trump anything firm to fight against. They just kept Joe in the basement and away from the Press and it was the path to victory
I absolutely want DeSantis to win the Nomination. I think he’d be a good President. But Trump has a rabid motivated Base. That base has indicated they won’t vote for DeSantis. And as short sighted as I think that is it’s where we are at

Biden won because the hatred of Trump is stronger than the support Trump has. No more. No less. Which is why it would be insane for the republican party to make him their nominee but here we are.

Can we also talk about how much a guy like Franklin Graham has lost the plot to be rushing to rally for prayer because a guy he likes is catching charges for how he handled hush-money payments to a porn star for an affair he had while his wife was pregnant?

It isn't. Not even worth addressing. You won't find me defending Biden, that's for sure.

I don't know if there is merit for these charges or not, but out of all of the possible charges looming for Trump these are the weakest. The cases in GA and DC are much stronger. However, at the end of the day it just isn't worth it. I am not a huge DeSantis fan but I was excited that there was finally someone that looked to be ending this Trump love affair with the republican party but this just brings them right back. Which is really strange but I'm done trying to figure that out.

One of the reason (speculated about) Trump declared for 24 early is so he can now use his PAC funds and Presidential Race War chest to pay for his legal bills. So hold on for the ride. This is the weakest case but here we are. And there’s plenty of time to have the others miraculously get brought in record time
I’m hoping DeSantis runs. I’d rather vote for him than Trump. But I take the Bill Barr stance. Which I believe most people should

Just vote against the permanent deepstate. DC has nothing in common with 3/4 of the rest of the country. Chinese money has found its way into many DC pockets.

I don't think anyone should be making the calculation of if its "worth it" or not. If I bought a sports car for $130,000 and falsely claimed it as a business expense, I'd go to jail. If Trump did that here, he should face the same kind of charges and treatment that I would. Power, wealth, and position shouldn't entitle you to a different set of rules.

A 130K sports car can be a legitimate business expense. No one has gone to jail for claiming a vehicle business expense.
