Here is a breakdown of the 4 teams LU will be playing in the Flames Classic.

1. Sacred Heart (5-5) weak competition.
2. Ball State (8-7) better competition-lost to Georgia 1-0.
3. Fairfield (3-5) lost to UVA 16-1
4. Maryland (15-4) quality wins against 2 ranked teams, Oklahoma State #3 and Oregon #22.

It seems almost certain that our final game against the Terrapins will be for the championship.

Thursday at 3:00 vs. Sacred Heart
Thursday at 5:00 vs. Ball State
Saturday at 2:30 vs. Fairfield

Maryland game is cancelled. Flames travel to the Blue Grass State next week. An SEC foe at Kentucky and then the conference slate begins with 3 games against EKU.

Looks like the weather is going to be brutal in KY for the entire week and weekend.

Duke and Carolina coming up next week. We need payback to the Blue Devils. Those teams meet in a 3 game series before we play them so the head to head should give us a better idea about the Tar Heels. Their record is poor in comparison to Duke's record but they have played a stiffer out of conference schedule.

Duke got the better of us again. Apparently they are a notch above us in the circle and have an overall more potent lineup. On the other hand, we did handle the Tar Heels without too much of a problem. Record currently stands at 17-10 after a very rough start. Let's hope that we dominate conference play and peak at the right time.
