Well, Jr has zero say with the school anymore and Jonathan is in a position of leadership.

Besides, it’s not about ownership of the school, it’s about ownership of the family name. Jonathan has equal claim to it. Maybe they should ask Gene. Or even @ballcoach15’s buddy TF.

Jr. is still a sad individual. In parts of this story he sounds like Jim Bakker after he crashed. He tries to take more credit for the school than his dad. He may have brought it into it's current form (construction is like art, his masterpiece  ) but it took a founder to have the vision and give it a spiritual foundation. Afterall, Jr told us he had nothing to do with that. And we believe him.

It’s amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit.

This is a sad individual trying to ensure his life meant something positive, when unfortunately what he will be most remembered for are the voluntary misdeeds which removed him from authority and responsibility.

It’s the story floating around. Absolutely some accuracy to it. When he was being vetted this was a HUGE red flag. They hired a PR firm to deal with it. This is a no brainer solution.

100% understood, but that is not what is purported above. I probably trigger too easily, but it's always a pet peeve of mine when a headline and an article don't match up.

Why didn't the LU leadership take it serious and do something about it if Auburn saw it as a red flag? Perhaps Prevo is color blind?

This is concerning Freeze's messages to the LU assault case "survivor" which occurred after he was here. On Prevo's watch I believe. That's where the truth person is coming from.

Because it was a nothing burger, showing the DM is an attention seeker by the girl, nothing wrong with the DM, it wasn't threatening in any way. Now would it be better if your high profile employee ignored it and didn't do it? Absolutely, but nothing was threatening or harassment about it. I'd say "she posted something, I responded to it" this apologizing for saying stuff and apologizing for posting stuff is getting ridiculous. Never apologize

Very informative, Thank you! The only correction I see is that Beckles has been out of the CFO role with LCS for a number of years.

Say what you want about Jerry Jr. but he got things built and you have boat loads of money, you should be forever grateful for that wind at your back. I've always found Christians obsession over personal behavior odd, right teaching is more important than right living, your living effects you and your family, your teaching effects generations who effect generations. We should expect moral failure, we are failed people in need of forgiveness, a pastor who fails morally should not be a surprise or shock to anyone the person should be relieved of his duties for a time, told to work it out with his spouse and when things are good be brought back into the mix.

I don't remember much (or any) repentance from Jerry Jr.
Exactly. Quite the opposite. And the sacking of his family is just ridiculous. "Dad drank Nyquil instead of whiskey" and "Jonathon copied everything I did".

Probably not a great idea to have a guy on the search committee who is "losing his faculties", noticeably, unless he's just meant to be another rubber stamp.

I would like to at least a couple that represent an education background. You would think Boreck may have been a fit for the search committee.

Yes, I will forever be grateful for what Jerry Jr has done for me personally, and for the school. I wouldn't be where I am today without him to some degree.

That said, if we are going to expel or otherwise punish students for sex or, in some cases, being sexually assaulted, not to mention drinking, then leadership must be held to the same standards. "Do as I say, not as I do," is a major problem in today's culture.

Finally, while personal life may not matter when it comes to politics, at a Christian institution, 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." If Jerry Jr were the Secretary of Education or an elected official or CEO of a secular business, his personal life wouldn't, or at least shouldn't, be an issue. As the leader of the world's largest evangelical university, it SHOULD matter, especially if the university is going to hold others to strict standards of morality.
