Dude, put the Flavor-Ade down. Season Ticket holders and casual fans won’t a quality fan or two a year. Watching NMSU UMASS Akron year in and year out won’t boost enthusiasm
I had a moment towards the end where I spotted the “CUSA” sign and felt sad about our near future in comparison to this game.
I've seen some tweets were people thought we are going to the American or we should be in the American. It is a little sad, but it's better be somewhere for now .

Best quote from a BYU message board:

This is one of the most miserable excuses for a BYU defense I've seen in over 40 years of watching the Cougars.

This game reminded me of 2020 team. O and D Line dominate, special teams solid and overall just a good football team from the eye test who took a lead in to 4th quarter and ran at will and ate clock. Last year felt like a good QB,solid D and the rest was sketchy. This year up to now - great D, flashes of an offense with duct tape and bandaids with pure grit to win. Whatever Hugh did with the run game and O Line for this game, - it’s what I have been waiting for all season. We have a template now to use for Rest of the way. So happy for JB. Game looked like a legit P5 game on TV - full stadium and a recognizable logo.

Great job Ian.
Thanks Jerry Jr ( was wondering if you snuck in with a disguise).
Thanks Coach Sam Rutigliano and thinking of you Paul Rutigliano.
Thanks Coach Dave Williams and Bill Gillespie and Danny Rocco.

I thought of all the above last few minutes of the game.

I was dreading this part of the schedule with all the injuries. In previous years we probably dont win this game with over 10 guys in our 2 deep hurt. It just shows how far this roster has come and how good this coaching staff is at finding underrated talent and bring them to the mountain.

With a week off to get healthy (and hopefully do some recruiting) im starting to feel optimistic against Arkansas. I hope we at least get our 3 hurt receivers back and Brewer is back to 100%. We know this defense can keep us in the game against almost anyone in the country. If we can keep moving the chains like we did today we will be a tough team to beat. Also I can't believe I'm saying this but I think Bennett earned the start against Arkansas. Of course with Brewer standing by at the first sign of trouble.

In sat next to a guy who watched JB play at Summerville and the coach at the time (not sure if he's still there). I had no idea, but he told me that JB was getting look at by the USC(SC). I used to look at his high lights in high school, and today JB showed who he was during those days. I think his injury made him not the same for a bit, but something snapped today. I hope he continues to grow and become the absolute qb that he can be. I have said that JB was playing like a FCS qb; tonight he gave me that hype that I had when he signed with us years ago. Any who, let's enjoy this for the rest of the weekend and Go Flames! :woohoo

All around great game on every side of the ball. My hope that HCHF had the game plan to win came to fruition. I've been a critic of JB, but I will give him the credit he deserves....he was great tonight! Dae Dae is just a FLAT OUT BEAST! And, we get him back next year! The only bad performance tonight was the refs! That reversal was absurd! Oh....and let me also add, GO HERD! JMU (so called best team in Va) goes down!

For this Marshall alum who taught there for 3 semesters, I loved checking the Herd-JMU scores on my buddy's phone while I was watching the LU-BYU game in person at Williams Stadium! :clapping :clapping
JMwho?

Stings a little that LU still isn’t getting much respect. The narrative seems to be more about how bad BYU must be rather than how good LU may be.

I’m reading things like, “BYU has hit rock bottom” and “lost to a team that could only score 21 against Gardner-Webb”. It’s a little frustrating.

In the third quarter, it hit me: we probably went super vanilla against GWU, and BYU fell for it.

I think Arkansas will still be favored, but LU should win every other game. And if they can steal the ARK game, maybe we get a bowl game like we never imagine.

That 2-point conversion at WF looms larger every week.

Bring on ND!

The 2 point conversion was still the right call

I have been too hard on JB for the entire year so far. He deserved most of it, but tonight he made a huge stride forward and played a great game. Have to give credit, where it is due. Hope he can keep it up. Gotta go, the boss is calling me for my crow and egg breakfast.

I’ve been in favor of the two-point call since the drive that succeeded it!

I’m simply saying not converting it is a big difference right now in terms of national attention. Nobody’s fault, still the right call.

Everyone has said most of the things already. But I wanted to add a few things.

I know Dae Dae and and JB are getting tons of credit as they should be. JB had tons of time to throw and Dae Dae had space to run. The O-line dominated BYUs defensive line.

BYUs defensive line looked very bad. I don't know if we played that well or their D-line was really that terrible.

Obviously our defense showed how tough it can be. We have a chance in almost any game if our defense is firing on all cylinders.

Amazing and shocking game! Now we won't be sneaking up on Arkansas like we did on BYU. I hope we're ready!

I'm sure it's just Freeze or even Jerry Jr that makes ESPN plus the rest of the college fb world hates Liberty. Right?
ESPN.com wrote:Give me Liberty ...
We hate to be the ones to bring this up, but it needs to be said: Liberty is 7-1.

We know, we know: When quarterback Malik Willis left, we all hoped we could safely stop paying attention to the Flames. But somehow, they've kept winning, including a 41-14 stomping of BYU on Saturday behind 213 rushing yards from Dae Dae Hunter.

Liberty's lone loss came on a missed 2-point try against 6-1 Wake Forest.

Liberty has won with three different starting QBs.

Liberty is -- deep breaths -- good.

Is it possible Hugh Freeze is fueled by the country's anger at him, like the emperor in "Star Wars?" (We also assume that if Twitter existed in a galaxy far, far away, Palpatine would slide into Obi-Wan's DMs to complain about rebel criticisms too.) There's simply no keeping the guy down (even when he is literally kept down).

So, do we need to take Liberty seriously? The only acceptable answer is yes. To embrace Freeze is to take away his power. Or, if not that, maybe Iowa should hire him.

I have no issues being the evil empire of college sports if this means the media will start giving us credit when it's due. If we were anyone else we would be getting more attention for having such sustained success through the fcs-fbs transition.

I ended up with 3 extra tickets for yesterday's game. Thankfully I was able to sell them outside of Gate 1, about 40 minutes before kickoff.
