This will not be a close game, but with Salter, expected to be out, I don't think the score will be a blowout.

LU - 27
UMass - 10

I just want a win at this point, until Brewer and/or Salter come back.

Firewall - gives up 215 yards

We will stack the box on them and stop the only viable part of their offensive offense.
Which QB's will play for us and for how long?

LU 52 as we find ways around their box stuffing
Umess 3

We give up 185 in yardage

LU - 31
Umess - 6

Wind is a factor in our passing game and we eat a lot of clock

D gives up 219 yards

How do you determine winner? I predicted a 17 point win. We won by 18 and I was closer to what yards we gave up ;)

I think it would be most accurate to go with closest to the actual final score. If UMass lost by 17...one could predict 72-55 and be way off with the actual score, but within the margin of win.

After further review, the ruling on the field is overturned. Aredd33 wins.
I calculate the difference between the flames score, opponents score, and spread. So 42-24 was final. Racenut guessed 38-14. So 42-38=4. 24-14=10. Spread was 18, his was 24 so 24-18=6. 4+10+6 = 20 is his final score. Aredd came up with 20 (34-14) also but has the tiebreaker with his guess of 220 vs racenut's 209. Total Umass offense was 233.
If someone can come up with a better way to figure a winner that's cool. But I think this takes into account all of the variables, fairly.

I would get rid of that spread variable and give the win to JK. It's a score prediction thread not a spread prediction thread isn't it?

LU 42 - UMass 24

JK: 45(3) - 14(10)

Racenut: 38(4) - 14 (10)

The reason I majored in CJ and Psychology is so I wouldn't have to do a whole lot of math :D . Although...statistics just about killed me. However, I don't see how the above could not be most applicable to a score prediction thread. Looks like to me JK won the day by 1 point margin on score prediction difference.

I keep telling you all….if you would just listen and take everything I say 100%, you’d all be a lot smarter. Isn’t that what message boards are for?

So by your reasoning, someone who guessed 39-34 would have tied with JK. Or 32 - 27 would have tied. You have to give some credit for getting a better guess for the margin of victory. IMHO

Technically whoever is closest to number of points scored by Liberty is the best guess. Points allowed by LU is always scary because 3 and 4th string players could be in game in 4th quarter
