According to sources, we are getting a transfer from Alabama. Savannah Woodward, who can play both outfield and infield. She battled injuries this past season, but in 2021, she batted .292 with 3 HR and 26 RBI. She's from Warrior, AL.

Not really, but a team has to go into portal now, or else they probably get left behind. If NCAA is going to continue to allow "free agency" they need to tweak the rules. They should limit the number of transfers a school can sign each season. (probably 3) and they should ban transfers within a conference.

We're replacing our 2 best hitters and best pitcher, while also losing Waggoner and Johnson. We need at least one dominant pitcher and high average/power hitter to replace Allan (1st team Big 10). So far we have some utility players transferring in who probably have seen limited action for their teams. Still hopeful that there are some ladies out there that fit the bill and want to play for Dot and LU.

She is a 5th year Sr. Her CAREER stats are 4-5 with a 4.90 ERA and teams are hitting over .300. I'm sure she's a great kid and that's why she's on the team. Certainly not a viable replacement for Kirby, or Waggoner, or even Johnson.

Maybe Coach is still on the lookout for a "studette" pitcher in the portal. My guess Bachman will be doing more pitching and Deter as well.

The other 4 can be immediately plugged into the lineup and will make us offensively better. One a DH, one an infielder, one 1st baseman, and one an outfielder.

Lou Allan was announced as a transfer August 17th last year for what that's worth. I imagine it is preferable to have the student athlete for the Fall semester for Fall practice, scrimmages, and exhibition games.
