The Flames closed out the 2006-2007 season with a loss to VMI at home, 79 to 78.

Discuss it here.

This ought to be good. Play Basketball

Will this be Dunton's last time on the sidelines?

You have to go forward in that possesion not backwards, that was a poorly executed play. I would like to see where the collision was that was said

That may be Randy's last time. VMI made adjustments and just plain wanted it more. The Flames defense was poor and rebounding was horrendous. ACE's player of the week went to his head, he did notta. Too bad.

Yeah, it was a poor decision to throw it backwards on the inbounds ... but that's what VMI was forcing us to do. Its hard to believe their defense decided the contest on the final play.

I would have stuck with Tyler... He was hot and seemed to be containing RWill well. I cannot believe its over.

Let's save the Dunton talk for tomorrow after the heat of the moment is over.

That was an exhausting game to watch.

Duggar said after the last meeting that LU was the most athletic team in the conference. They really pulled a rabbit out of their hat and we could not answer. First the 2-3 zone then the box and 1 on Larry. The less athletic team won and we were outsmarted.

Another way of saying that we were out coached tonight.

The more I think I have to tip my cap to VMI.. They came in struggling and really had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even though we were at home, the pressure was really on us. They were dangerous, but no one could have envisioned a game plan like that.

14-17 year, lose to number 6 seed in the tourney, very disappointing.

Our third straight tournament opening game loss. Unacceptable in this conference.

We should give credit to where credit is due. Duggar had a terrific gameplan and they outhustled us tonight.

But it would be hard to come up with a more frustrating way to end a season (well outside of a CCU-esue buzzerbeater).

Yes. Yes he did. And you're supposed to come into tourney play with a creative gameplan (or at least some options) unless you're solid all around. We seemed to show up with our standard "Let's play basketball!" plan, which is questionable because again, this was tournament play.

I lost my voice for a loss to VMI...... :x

"Our Best Defender" Anthony Smith was abused tonight

VMI was just the better team tonight

The only thing that would have tipped the cap that VMI would pull this is off is that they backed off into a 2-3 with about 6 minutes left in the 2nd half of the 2nd meeting. Otherwise I can bet 99.9% of us did not see this coming and did not prepare for it.

I thought the play that hurt was Brew getting blocked on the drive toward the end. That would have given us a bigger cushion.

We beat them twice at their own game, yet we come in the Vines Center playing stall ball.

Gross.

Plus we could get the big stop or rebound down the stretch. It was hard to swallow. I just expected a stop and it really never came. They attacked us off the dribble. I mean R Will blew right by Rell with ease.
