You know I was a little nervous coming into this game but honestly I feel fairly confident. If Rutgers can hold these guys to 7 (I know this doesn’t truly matter but it’s what I’m going with) then even if we give up 21 that should still be fine with us putting up at least 32 on Friday.

B1G refs...were horrible

We were the better team that day...but yes we are somewhat offensively challenged.

Which referee consortium do you use?

I believe we use ACC officials.

We used ACC refs even when we were in the Big South.

Rando question but curiosity has me...what happened to Frank Boyd? Seems that he is forgotten in the depth chart and had some promise as a frosh. Maybe he is a measuring stick for the talent progression is 3-4 years?? Yet, we are sorely missing a bruising back for those tough yards or for protecting #7.

Kind of glad to have a Friday night game - especially since it means a national ACCN broadcast (not just streaming). This will probably be a lot of folks first glimpse of LU this year.

Here's hoping the broadcast wasn't like last year. I'm also assuming we don't have to fight blackouts because it's on the main accn and not the accn regional?

He has been in street clothes each of the 2 home games. I usually look for him given he is from Midlothian where we live.

I always thought he was a pretty good runner.

My 2 cents, there are a few opinionated posters who haven't been posting as much recently and it seems quieter for that reason.

If there's not as many "hot takes" there's less to converse about.

There sure is a lot more conversation going on about us over at the Syracuse board.

I hope this doesn't signify their players are more fired up for this game than ours.

I watched a little of Syracuses game Saturday. This is not x's and o's but pretty neat. Last week their place looked empty on TV. It sounds like Liberty coming back is drawing a big crowd. Also alot of respect earned last year based on their forum.

A little tip for Dino. His second half offensive plan better be totally different than his 1st half because we make awesome adjustments at half on defence.

I'll tell you what, Hugh Freeze is worried about us thinking we are better than Syracuse. He keeps saying their roster is better than ours, and there is a reason he's saying that.

He’s gonna say that against any P5 teams, and for 2 reasons, I think:

1. It’s objectively true in most cases. They’re just gonna be able to recruit better athletes than we can right now. Our advantages are Malik and coaching.

2. It can help the guys tap into that fire to prove themselves, especially if they were under-recruited or passed over by the big name teams.

Then kick some dirt up! I will say, It is hard to take shots at other programs and schools with bizarro Jerry Jr. drama still floating in cyberspace.

There are some informative posters on here, but they don't very much. (maybe 1 post every week or 2). We need more posters.

Many posters had rather talk about food than football. :dontgetit

In all seriousness, I listened to the HCHF coach’s show this morning, and he has me a bit concerned, although he is really good at Coachspeak. He even had me concerned about Campbell🤣. Anyway, sounds like the 🍊will be meaningfully improved from last year.

My biggest concern is protecting Malik given all of the injuries on the OL. Although, OL Coach Sam Gregg said we should have everyone back, he did not choose to say guys would be back at full strength. I would expect that Syracuse has DEs that get after it. I know they also have a DT with 3.5 sacks already.

On D, I am mostly concerned about their RB Tucker who is averaging 122 YPG this year. Although, I feel pretty good about this given DL is arguably our deepest and strongest group.

Obviously, Taj Harris is a really good receiver, as we saw last year. He is averaging ~76 YPG.

All in all I believe we will win but it may not be easy. Certainly not as easy as last year.

Manson's reprted earlier that Boyd was hurt, but also reported today that he was finally back at practice. I also have always thought he was a good back that deserves more carries. But we'll see. At least Henderson got a few carries against ODU.

IMO, our biggest advantage over Syracuse is Freeze and Co. 6 Years in and Dino Babers is living up to his reputation that he's good with other coaches playes but not so much with his own. IMO, Syracuse's issues are Babers fault. The Orangemen commit a lot of stupid penalties, the OL has been weak his entire tenure, and the fact that he still has a QB controversy going is the prime example of his leadership deficiency. I compare him to Turner Gill in that he's a very good man, but he's not the best coach. Although Gill may be the better coach. And Sean Tucker is really good.

Our run game has been very inconsistent this year. Worried about not being able to run consistently vs Cuse.
Their QB’s are better than the one we faced last year.
Best receiver we may face until Ole Miss.
Best RB we have faced.
Their O Line is much improved from last year. ( decimated with injuries last year )
Their D Line has been stout so far this year.
Conclusion - I have no idea - the more I watch CFB the less I am sure about anything.

I don't know that I ever considered him our best, but I'm a fan. Always thought he was underutilized. He has been here 5 years, and is probably finishing a master's program this Spring (if he hasn't already). If he wants to play some football, he needs to go elsewhere for the year of eligibility he has left. I think Frank could be a starter at the FCS level.
