Notre Dame should not be in ACC. If the NCAA'S favorite pet wants in a conference, they should go to Big 10. Even the dumbest person within the NCAA should know Big 10 is only good fit for the Golden Dommers.

Would't be a good fit as far as ND is concerned. Still too much bad blood from being black-balled by B10 several times when ND was in their prime.

I'm sure you probably have some sort of rationalization as to why they deserve that, but quite frankly, that is irrelevant. The more important question is how would those other 115 schools benefit from doing it? The answer of course is they wouldn't. Not one of them. Not one little bit. In fact, we all know it would be just the opposite.

Oh, BTW, I think our founder would beg to differ on the matter of "blackballing" Notre Dame.

I think everyone will admit ND receives too much favoritism from NCAA, that no other schools receive. NCAA puts Notre Dame AD on par with conference commissioners, which is wrong.

Someone claiming to have inside source at OSU says Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State all going to move together to the Big-10.

What do you guys think?

Don't know. But the friend of a friend said the NCAA's recent ruling on the Baylor scandal clears the way for them.

Big 12 is digging its grave by being slow to act (as they always do). Big 12 should add Liberty and UCF to replace Texas and the Okies, and "keep playing".

The Big ten already came out and said they wouldn't consider any school outside of the AAU (except ND). This means any rumors that include a big 12 school other than Kansas is complete BS. Iowa St is aau but there is zero chance they go to the big ten.

If LU offered taking a quarter of a share and UCF a half share of tv revenue for a decade, might fly. About the only way I see it could. UCF would make about the same and LU could afford it. Then about the time we started making $ realignment happens all over again...

No chance. Iowa State & Kansas have an outside shot as AAU institutions. But Baylor and Okie State don't have the academic prowess to be considered unless a heavyweight had them in tow. The heavyweights have left the building.

You know alot more about this than just about anyone here. But I get the feeling ESPN FOX could carless about AAU. They seem to be driving the bus. They care about eyeballs ads and money. We'll find out what big10 presidents like most. Money usually wins out.

Sadly Okie State & Baylor don't many bring eyeballs to ESPN or Fox. Neither do Kansas or Iowa State but at least they are in the general footprint and have the AAU status that the university presidents value.

I read on ESPN website that PAC 12, ACC and Big 10 have been holding talks about a possible merger of some type. All in all, it was the dumbest article I've ever read. Of the Power 5 Commissioners, only the SEC has a Commissioner with any sense at all. The ACC should have nothing to do with Big 10 or PAC 12. The NCAA has just about destroyed college sports. Now it appears the conferences will finish them off.

Considering most big ten schools won't even let up on academic standards for a few athletes like the non Vanderbilt SEC schools do to help compete, I highly doubt the president's would completely give up on the academic elitism now for a few million more a year. It's honestly surprising how hostile some big ten administrators are towards their athletic programs.

I'm from Wisconsin and I can second that. Wisconsin fancies itself as an elite academic institution and they make few exceptions for players. If you read this article about Gary Anderson leaving Wisconsin it will give you a better perspective about how the Big Ten views academics.

Barry Alvarez compared Wisconsin to Stanford in the article. They wouldn't want to be associate with practically all of the SEC schools.
"It's been well [documented] there were some kids I couldn't get in school," the Badgers' former coach said. "That was highly frustrating to me. I lost some guys, and I told them I wasn't going to lose them.

"I think they did what they were supposed to do [academically] and they still couldn't get in. That was really hard to deal with."

Multiple outlets are reporting the three P5s are discussing strategic partnerships. It does not state that merger is atop their agenda. The newly formed cabal could just be to keep the SEC in check.

The fact that the Big XII was not invited to the party is significant. I realize the leftover P5 is awaiting some type of understanding on compensation on the Texas-Oklahoma exit before they move forward. But it is not crazy talk that a few schools could get plucked based on these discussions.

Once the first domino falls, I suspect the Big XII will immediately start inviting some new members which will potentially put us in line for an AAC possibility. But when that first domino drops could be in days, months or even a year or two.

There is renewed discussion of a CUSA-East breakaway that I have been following in discussions on mulitple sites. Having former Belt commish Benson getting involved in allegedly attempting to broker regionally tight FBS leagues seems problematic. But he certainly knows the players. Unfortunately for him they know him too.
