Not really a good answer. Tweets are fine but for something like this he should address the nation. Especially when it is evident his rhetoric helped instigate this.

Also there are reports an IED has been retrieved on Capitol grounds. Not confirmed but if true, that is just insane.

@TH Spangler I never said ridiculous. I said sad and predictable but ridiculous works too. Thanks for the help.

Obviously when there are mass gatherings of people there will be bad actors trying to take advantage of the situation to create chaos.

But what has unfolded today was not only pre-planned, it wasn't even pre-planned in private. I guess they just thought it was all rhetoric but multiple security alerts have been sent out for days leading up to this so that this kind of thing was thought to be possible.

Which makes the strategy taken by law enforcement really confusing. This summer, their strategy was completely different.

I will never condone violent acts like this and I will never try to justify behavior like this by pointing out that peoole I disagree with do the same thing. This was wrong and the timing was intended to disrupt the joint session. Plain and simple.

Totally disagree. It was the perfect statement. It was an empathetic call to action. You may not agree with what he said but YOU were not the audience. The people at the Capitol were the audience They needed to hear they’d been listened to “appreciated” but the violence wasn’t needed and it was time to go home. In peace. Perfect.

Agreed. Sorry I don't think potus should love terrorists, foreign or domestic. Jail those that broke the law, and make an example out of them.
