UT power struggles when it comes to hiring a coach are insane. The last one ended with an AD resigning and Phil Fulmer snaking his way into the picture. A friend of mine who has been a football and basketball season ticket holder for years texted me today and called them S— Show U.

He knows how well they operate. Money is not a problem at UT. Years ago Thunder Thornton paid $1 million (i believe) to run thru the T at the beginning of a football game with the team.

It sounds like UT might be looking for a new Head Football coach AND new AD in the near future. Study

If UT goes to a bowl game (Liberty Bowl) then i believe as i said before this was just an angle by UT to have leverage to not pay the full buyout of it's coaches. Instead of 12 million $$$$ i can see it being 6 million $$$$. If Pruitt is fired it will be announced within a week or less. He is at his grandfathers funeral today.

BTW was pretty shocked to see how little we pay Ian - we need to fix that ASAP. He makes considerably less than skinny jeans pastor ? C’mon man...

Peyton Manning is in Knoxville so things must be heating up some. He has a seat at the table when it comes to hiring new coaches.

For those of us who missed the press release, how much is Ian making? If it's not a really high number for a program at our level, that needs to be addressed pronto.

Thanks for the data. While I don't know what other upper level G5 ADs are making, at first glance that seems a bit light to me.

Fulmer signed a four-year deal worth more than $1 million annually in April 2018. His contract, which has a base salary of $300,000, supplemental pay of $600,000 and a year retention bonus of $100,000, runs through Dec. 31, 2021

Just saw Phillip Fulmer give a statement that Pruitt will be back next year, so unless the University fires Fulmer and Pruitt.....

Tenn. can't play in the bowl game because of covid including Pruitt. I don't believe that. If they get a bowl ban or self ban themselves they get $0 but if they can't play because of covid reasons they still get 8.5 million $$$$. This is money they get with out the expense of going to a bowl game. I will still be surprised if Pruitt doesn't get fired but who knows. The money they get from the SEC even if they don't go to the bowl game will be 3/4 of the buyout money needed. I honestly think Tenn. is trying to play chess and not checkers to save themselves some money. The internal investigation is still ongoing.

So they’d be looking for a FB coach AND an AD Study

I just hope to survive whatever Tennessee goes through with us still having Freeze. I think if they show some wrongdoing, chances are they don't hire Freeze because of the way he left Ole Miss, if they look clean they probably pursue Freeze. If Fulmer stays they probably don't go with Freeze, if they go new AD and new Coach they may pursue Freeze. If Tennessee hires a new Coach this year and it's not Hugh Freeze, then I think Freeze is committed and stays for many more years and wants to build legacy here

Auburn is a total dumpster fire.

Tenn closed that opportunity.

No one else is a competitor this year.

Also, let's think cynically for a second. If I want a big dollar contract, CoVID year is not the year to do it. Especially at a public school.
