Sure he might not be here forever, but let the rest of us enjoy the time while he is here. :D
Oops. Maybe we are posting in the wrong place then. I thought this entire thread originated off of him hypothetically taking another job. :dontgetit

Due diligence done I have found zero evidence the Vol joib would be his preferred job. Sources that it is would be great.
I found an article that states industry insiders think so but that bis worth about nothing.
I found one where he states he prefers Auburn over the vols but that had to do more with Gus.
Also, another where he sounds put here.
I found nothing anywhere where he himself states this so links would be greatly appreciated.

I want Freeze to finish his career with us, and feel that he, McCaw and McKay could help propel us into the AAC or better. However, if he leaves, he leaves. And I won't fault him. He can win a National Championship with the Vols or an SEC school. We're not winning one in a really long time. Also, if TN is truly his dream job, then he needs to take it when he can. Besides, he'll set us up nicely for another good coach.

Oh yeah. I have been highly impressed with this staff this year. I think they got all they could from the team. Cant ask for more.

@CCWMichael

It probably holds weight that the newlywed Freeze's broke into Neyland in 1992 and Hugh told Jill he would coach in the SEC. He did, but that connection to Tennessee will always loom large.

IMHO this is good news for us. They aren’t going to go for Freeze if they are under investigation. That would be a PR nightmare. They are going to look for a squeaky clean coach (if they end up looking for a new coach).

And, even if they did want him - he might not want to walk into a possible sanctions situation.

I was just going to post the same thing. Freezes past is behind him and he should be forgiven, but if Tennessee is under investigation for wrong doing they aren't hiring a coach who was ousted from an SEC program for wrongdoing, it would not be a good look and I can't see the SEC or Tennessee officials being ok with that. If everything was totally proper and pruitt gets fired for performance alone, that's one thing, if it's wrongdoing, that's a different ball game

I don't think they fire pruitt in a covid year unless infractions are big and they use that as an excuse. Otherwise I think with covid this whole season gets an asterisk for most teams. Look at Penn State, very good last year, pathetic this year

You could be right. It's still early on all this and will take a few days for it all to come to light.

Rumor is one of the assistant coaches gave a credit card to a couple players to take recruits out and show them a good time. Like i said, it's a rumor and may or may not be true

Tennessee isn't that far from Louisville, if you know what I mean.

I wonder if Tennessee would entertain the idea of Gus Malzahn. SEC east is easier, georgia and Florida would be the only tough teams and both of them have been known to choke. Gus would only need to beat LSU, Alabama once in awhile in crossover games or SEC championship game

The fans still want Freeze but it will be the boosters who decide. It always boils down to 2-3 boosters who make the decision in the end. They may listen to the fans and they may not.
