Great team win! 5 guys in double figures against an SEC team is tremendous, especially given what we lost last year. The way we controlled the game in the second half also shows we're mature even if we're pretty young. Have we ever beaten two P5's in the regular season before? Potentially a chance for #3 tomorrow if we get TCU & #4 against Missouri later in the season.

Still haven't seen Jackson yet so we likely have more upside than what we're even seeing right now. That's crazy to think about.

AAC counts as a major conference in basketball, so I’d consider Tulsa a major conference win too. Maybe less so since UConn left.

Speechless. The way we are shooting the rock in new arenas is insane. Of course hes been building to this for several years now. I literally cant wait until we see jackson in the mix as well which is another shooter.

It feels like a team that each player knows their role and adapts to what that role is each game. If they can keep shooting like this and keep this unselfish attitude then holy cow this programs ascension is just going to keep going

Happy mcdowell had some success and happy for mckay. He has to be proud sitting back watching this. Still work to be done and we may lose tomorrow but this has been impressive.

So much versatility on this team. For several minutes down the stretch today, when they were trying to press us, Ritchie went with Rode in the post along with Cuff, Keegan, Darius and Parker for maximum ball handling and FT shooting. There were times in the Miss. St. game we had Preston, Abii and Rode all on the court. We just beat a good SEC team by 16, and Our best player had his worst game of the year. Play Basketball

Kyle Rode looking better than he has since he flew back from the Bahamas. 8)
How about this line for Blake Preston in just 12 minutes.
6 points
4 rebounds
4 assists
2 blocks
0 turnovers

It was a Darius McGhee reference. Not that he was awful, just not as productive as his first 2 games, but he didn't need to be.

For the record, we actually had 5 in double figures, and he was one of them.

Really been happy with Parker. He brings a lot more
than I expected. He’s a player. He Abii and how well McDowell is playing have been 3 huge pleasant surprises.

In clearing the bench at the end of the game, there was not an appearance by Marten Maide. Jackson as well, but we know he is injured. Hadn't heard anything about Marten.

He is just really steady. I have really enjoyed his point guard play.

McGhee was impressive in other ways this game. His defense in the first half was great. He was everywhere.

McGhee was flying around the court doing a lot of little things which you haven't always seen from him. He had gotten better in a lot of different areas of his game including finishing at the hoop.

Tomorrow's final will be against TCU, who beat Tulsa 70-65. In their only other game they beat Houston Baptist by 24. HBU is pretty bad. They won 4 games last year, and their best player transferred out.

Great to watch the game on ESPN2 here in the Chicago market.

The announcers were very complimentary of Liberty. They had done their homework on the Flames and came prepared to discuss how impressed they were with us. Then we played dominant basketball. Announcers talked about Liberty "putting on a clinic" and several references about us playing "self-less basketball". My favorite was the contrast of other teams with 5-star athletes, Liberty is a team with 5-star culture.

Announcers making statements that Liberty looks like they belong here. Really good stuff to see Liberty and McKay finally stepping into their potential. With even better recruits coming, the ceiling is pretty high.

Apparently quite a few of our guys could. We are 2-0 against the SEC.
We probably could do decent in the SEC . That conference isn't exactly known for being good at basketball.

They are top heavy. I mean Kentucky cheats like it’s second nature but they are pretty good. Have a decent history. Auburn has had a nice run recently. LSU had some goof squads. Pretty sure Arkansas won a tournament game or two. The Gators have represented a time or 3. Vandy any Mississippi school or Texas school is an also ran though :D
