I think we've discussed this in passing, but what about a serious look at Turner Gill? He has a history of executive leadership(If you don't think being a head coach is that, I dunno what to tell you), staff selection and management, cares intimately for the heart of what LU is(Faith and vision), and absolutely will not embarrass us on the national stage.

Delegating as much responsibility as possible is a good trait of leadership. I think it would be worth fleshing out if he were interested and discussing who he would surround himself with.

Two things:

1. We essentially just fired him from a VP role.

2. While he cares intimately about the heart of Liberty and wouldn't embarrass us, he needed a lot of help on the organizational aspects of leading the football team. That was one of the biggest knocks on him off the field. He wasn't a high level leader that had his system and organization structure down like many of your CEO-type coaches.

I don't know the full details, but he "resigned" not long after Edwards was fired. The rumor going around was that Prevo wanted to fire both Edwards and Gill and got into a power struggle with part of the Board who wanted to keep Gill. Gill stayed for a little but but then ended up leaving as well.

Haven't spent much time looking into Prevos, but the more I do, the more I understand his willingness to let Jerry have his way. He has had plenty of his own nepotism and sideways dealing issues back in Alaska. This board is a detriment to liberty moving forward. The more time goes by, the more I think Prevos is trying to sweep things under the rug. I wonder how much dirt there might be on the executive committee.

I am hearing there is another shoe yet to fall, but it has more to do with Jr and finances than anything else. (My sources are not as reliable as they used to be).
I believe that Prevo is finding Jr.s chair a bit more comfortable than he initially thought.
It is pretty evident, that with Jonathon holding these events all around the country, touting the new and better LU, that he is going to be in leadership in some senior capacity.
There is some level of friction on the board regarding others in lower-level positions.
I am not a big Prevo fan. No particular reason, except he is too old and seems to be enjoying his new-found notoriety too much. The longer he remains in the position as a lame duck, the more it slows down LU's eventual rise and redemption, if it is to come. Which I believe it will.

Still stand by first statement that the Board needs to resign and anyone with the FALWELL name or relation needs to be gone.

Yes we get it ballcoach. The only other person you think needs to go is Nasser.

You also thought Jr just needed a 6 month break. So you're just not the authority in this.

I am not sure I would go as far as PH but it is clear a lot more people need to go to fix things. The fact that any of Jr's kids are still employed with University is crazy. I just don't get it.

I wouldn't mind any Falwell working for the university in lower capacities, but they should not hold any position with large levels of influence or decision making. Jonathan as the Chancellor would be the only exception.

When you cut out a cancer surgeons generally take some healthy cells with it, just to make sure they got it all. They certainly don’t say “well, I’m only going to take this much and hope it’s enough. “. They will take more and as often as not be glad they did because it gets aloof the cancer, and they don’t have to go in again

To extend this analogy:

When cancer surgeons don't get enough margin - the healthy cells around the cancer - they have to open you up again and go through a second painful surgery.

I don't want Liberty to have to go through this mess again. Let's get it all out right now.

What?! Dang, Gill seemed like a really good fit in that position. And sorry, I'm not completely in the loop, who is Edwards?

Side note, why do I get the feeling based on several posts that the President's seat at LU is akin to the ring of power, corrupting and destroying the longer it's held? Seems like the board should just impose a term limit or something. Or at least provide a mandated yearly psychiatry and spirituality evaluation in order to continue in the position.

In light of recent events and the result of the election, I hope everyone can understand why it would be best for Liberty to absolutely stay out of national politics. It would be best for us to be seen and not heard. Making political enemies across the aisle seems all fun and games when your guy is in office...Not so much when you lose. We should return our focus to Training Champions for Christ. It is those champions who will go out and vote, lead families, lead businesses, and lead civic organizations and so forth. It is our graduates who will vote, not Liberty itself. Nothing good can come from making enemies of the left - for our sake we should hope that Cardona has better things to do than look into the results of our “investigation.“

That said, our next president should be required to read two books, both by Robert Greene:

1. 48 Laws of Power
2. Laws of Human Nature

These two books are absolute gold for advice on navigating in a broken and polarizing national landscape and for making friends with everyone, regardless of their political or religious beliefs. Considering our own polarizing past here at Liberty, and the current push towards censorship, it would behoove us to start acting in a manner that is more civil in terms of national political discourse - By that, our next president should exit said discourse immediately, better still, not begin whatsoever.

We can remain on the conservative lean and not tick off the left in the process, and we should start doing so immediately.

There will be naysayers.... but I implore you to see the big picture. Our nonprofit status could hang in the balance - tick off the wrong people and there could be some very dark days ahead for our beloved Liberty University.

Our next president should stay out of politics completely, and especially on social media. No good can come over the next four years from some of the shenanigans we saw in the past four. This isn’t about fighting, this is about surviving. And if we were smart we would heed my warning.

Staying IN politics is how LU made a name for itself. Maybe refocusing HOW they do that might not be a bad idea. But at the end of the day, no matter how much LU tried to fit in with the Left they never will. It will never be enough, they will always want more, then call them hypocrites when they give it to them

Jr played fast and loose with the non-profit regulations and spent millions promoting the Trump brand. The current CIO rigged polls for Trump. I do not believe it is a question of 'if' there will be investigations from the new administration but simply a question of when.

Proceed with caution, flameshaw. The next four years could be rough for LU if Biden wanted it to be. Never bite the hand that feeds you. We don’t have enough bank to lose those 800 mil worth of federal student loans we get every year. And we very well may be competing against FREE public schools.

Another embarrassing post from an LU product.
Read Matt 23 and get back to me. Jesus called the left of his day hypocrites and rebuked them publicly. Jesus wasn't even a "polarizing" figure. 8) 8) SMH. :BS

Yep, let's just cave. As long as everyone likes us and we don't offend anyone, you know, like Jesus did in the Temple, publicly rebuking the Pharisees and the tax collectors. sheeesh.
I don't agree with the way Jr. conducted himself. I didn't agree with many things that Trump did. But to say that we should stay totally out of politics is ludicrous. Do you really think these Government Skools are going to stay out of politics? They are in it, neck deep, 24 hours a day. Maybe I missed the verse(s), that says we should be the salt of the earth, except for things that are related to politics.
