App state has insisted on 1 for 1s. Not happening for most part. As long as were willing to do 2 for 1s they will be interested. Plus top g5 teams looking for schedule boosts will be interested cincys ucfs memphis boise. Rivalry with coastal. Byu and army. Plenty of good scheduling options.

Yeah that is always the big thing. UCF obviously has had more success than us up to this point but they are another great example. Their AD refuses to schedule 2 for 1's and it has really hurt them and their schedule. Obviously for schedule balancing purposes you can't schedule too many but that is the nature of the beast.

Yea but he also tweeted for Hugh to answer the phone when SC calls post season. Nature of the beast but man I hope Hugh sticks around until he retires 😂

Speaking of Virginia Tech - their message board has been a LOT of fun to read the last couple days. They are totally flabbergasted over there. You think they didn't like Coach Fuentes before - since the loss to Liberty, they are all calling for his head on a platter.

The thing they are totally missing (at least 80% of them) is that Liberty actually out-played VT in virtually every aspect of the game. Liberty controlled the clock and the line of scrimmage. We converted 3rd and 4th downs. We played the majority of the game with a lead. It was a solid Liberty win.

Liberty beat VT up. Did you notice all the VT players requiring a trainer and limping off the field? I think we banged them up pretty good. Those VT players, coaches and fans know our name now. We are legitimately on the map. The best football team in Virginia is in Lynchburg and everyone knows it.

This was on the 247 board regarding VT opening as a favorite vs Miami.
HokieHoya21

I will just say I have a pretty inside guy in Vegas and I asked him about this last night, after the millionth person texted me what the heck he was thinking, and his response was "Come on, VT is not bad. Liberty needed 1,000, breaks to win that game and Miami actually stinks. That QB they have just bails them out in games. Our power ratings like VT alot"
I'm sorry but anyone who says "Liberty needed 1000 breaks to win" is either a Hokie Homer or they didn't watch the game. We dominated them. The literal only reasons we didn't win by more were two crucial fumbles that swung the momentum for VT. If you watched only the replay of the FG then it looks like a fluke but we were the better team by far.

First one is much more fun to read.
I will attest that the posters are correct about Fuente's interactions with fans. I'm not as close to VT as I was when Coach Beamer was there. I knew all the staff back then, and talked with most of them each season. Beamer and his staff were a lot more outgoing and media friendly. Fuente seems lost much of the time.
Hopefully he can coach everyone up, and go undefeated rest of season.
