This might be the type of opponent that if we win the coin toss I would elect to receive and try to score first. I'm not confident that we can come from behind. I understand that deferring gives you a chance to end the first half with the ball and start the second half with it as well but the game could be out of hand by that time. Let's score first and make them play catchup!

Khalil Herbert is a problem. He's cutting up just about everyone.

Thankfully, we have a chance to play someone like Hooker in practice each week. Have to limit the opportunities for those two to allow us to have a chance. If we let Hooker run wild, we're in trouble.

We seem to be pre-occupied with current events but don't you fear ballcoach. I am extremely excited for this game. I have a feeling we are not alone.

LIBERTY PLAYER REPORT: VIRGINIA TECH WEEK
By: Jon Manson

Tuesday was an NCAA mandated off day for the Liberty football team for election day. So, on Wednesday, Liberty offensive and defensive players met with the media. Defensive tackle Ralfs Rusins, linebacker Anthony Butler, safety Javon Scruggs, offensive lineman Thomas Sargeant, and quarterback Malik Willis took a wide range of questions and below is ASOR’s report from the player interviews…

It feels like it has been forever since we have played football. Here we are. Ranked in the top 25 going into what is arguably our biggest game in program history. I don't know what the result will be but I'm a big fan of this ride.

Saturday, win or lose, is a big day for our program. But I hope we win.

I feel like I should be more concerned with the distractions of the team suddenly being ranked. But I feel confident that Coach Freeze has put together a gameplan that our guys being healthy can execute on Saturday. I hope the team is feeding off being such big underdogs on Saturday. Because I REALLY like our chances for victory the closer we get to gameday.

As for this being the biggest game in our history, we have entered new heights under Coach Freeze. It seems like we could make this statement nearly week these days. I get the local interest, but for those of us outside of the region it is more about the national brand appeal of VT as opposed to the team they field on Saturday. I for one don't feel intimidated on behalf of our guys. I see this as an amazing opportunity.

ACCN is carrying the game. I have no idea where it'll be on in the Lynchburg area. It is available to me on the watch espn app.

Of course it is. IF we win then NC State becomes the biggest game of the season, then IF CCU is still unbeaten we are both top 15 teams ( and LU will be ranked higher than CCU and maybe BYU if we have beaten 3 P5 teams)
then if we are undefeated we are playing a name brand P5, BYU,UCF type in a bowl then that will be the biggest game...

BTW - every time I get worried about our D - they have proven me wrong. When we know what they are going to do and who is playing - we have been very good. When we have had a few curve balls -we were good oveRall but gave up some big plays and a couple of long drives. Regardless, I still have a hard time visualizing many stops against VT, Laws of Physics have to come in to play at some point no matter how good the game plan or gap integrity.

Who are the many you speak of?

To your point, I thought GS would carve us up in the bowl game. We had never stopped the triple option up to that point. Good things happen when this group of coaches have time to prepare.
