I may be wrong and don't wish to judge people I don't know, but I suspect those who are so adamant that we not look to the past at all in determining the future path of the school were not around in the early years and do not know the people who helped build the school and establish it's mission. There is much wisdom there to tap into. Unfortunately, we've lost several of them in the last few years. Pierre Guillerman, Ed Dobson and Roscoe Brewer come to mind.

While I appreciate the rest of that post, I want to push back on this point.

Student applications are down something like 40% over the last 4-5 years.
Hopefully the new regime will look at upgrading the online experience to equal or rival the schools that have passed LU. They also should address how Faculty is treated and compensated

"If it's Christian, it ought to be better."

We should apply that to how we treat our faculty and staff. Our faculty should lead their fields in compensation so we can attract the best Christian professors the world has to offer. We've got the money. Now's the time to invest in the people and the mission.

That is something we have been saying for a while on this board but it still rings true, even more so now.

We invested a ton of money into facilities, which was without a doubt a need. We have those pretty squared away for now so this would be the perfect time to invest in our people. Become an attractive place for Christian leaders from all areas of study. Like you said Jon, we have the money lets use to invest in our people.

It would be nice if this motto became a reality. It never has to date

Don't tell Ron Kennedy that. You'll get the "death stare of 1000 suns"

Speaking of potentials (I'm not supportive of this at all but its probably being discussed somewhere) keep an eye out for him. He's played the game quite well over the years, especially considering he headed up the online dept (then DLP), then left to literally start a competing program staffed in Lynchburg, somehow was able to come back and work his way up restarting himself in HR, then Marketing, then Sr VP over online enrollment, then Exec VP over online, resident, and marketing. To his credit, dude knows how to maneuver is all i'm saying.

While doing so, we Also have to give the faculty room also. We've been so crammed in with colleges; we need to spread out. We have room to spread out our schools. The time is now to do so, which means we can increase residency and not fully depend on online in the future.

As a side note I’ve met ballcoach in real life. We did not come to blows :D
Are you talking to me or asking someone else? ;) I'm confused.

Because, I have owned up and would own up to everything I have ever said. Look back at it. Never said Jerry, Jr. didn't do anything and was a saint - my point was prosecution on social without solid info. Look back in history and you will see I do that with everyone. I've defended everyone on this board from being bullied or slandered. I admit I was wrong with Jerry, and understand why he's gone - he should be. But we learned more over the past week and it verified some of the stuff I was giving Junior the benefit of doubt on. I consider myself a pretty loyal person - sometimes it bites me sometimes.

There's a name from my past for sure...I think I got that stare more times than I care to admit (along with some very choice but G-rated words) during my time working in the news department...course being on FB when I should be working on news stories doesn't help things...

Agreed. LU has the frame work to become a powerhouse once again. I won’t be surprised to see Politicians angling for the job

The Hill: Rep. Mark Walker says he's been contacted about Liberty University vacancy
He "talked" with "A" board member................... as in one. Probably happened. Someone on the board he knows. It means nothing. I highly doubt the board has officially contacted anyone at this time.

Yes, establishment type. Establishment would love to use this as an opportunity to slip in the back door.
