I’m going to go against the grain here (I’ll wait for you all to affix your shocked faces) but I’m happy for him. There was going to be no possible way he could heal or be happy while ever working at/for LU. He is now free to pursue what will actually make him happy. I’m totally ok with that and hope he finds it. Sure there will be bitterness short term. And I hope he does not decide to go scorched Earth. But I’m happy he feels he’s been released from the milestone around his neck and is now free to pursue his career passion
Well he seemed pretty passionate about redacted.

Sorry... That wasn't professional.

You can literally see the fruit coming out of Jr and it isn’t good. Jr if you’re lurking and reading this, know God loves you and that He sent Jesus to die for your sins. This isn’t self righteousness coming down on you. This is one broken man to another. My sins thankfully aren’t public knowledge. Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.

Well he made the rules. So....
Kind of my point.

Like you have alluded to the past day or so. He has wanted out and I am glad we all get what we want. I just didn't want it to be this messy.

Also the stuff Becki says about Christian forgiveness is straight from the sinners handbook. I know because I have played that card. It is weak and won't cause any kinds of growth.

As far as their marriage goes. I actually think it is fine. Not my thing but whatever but that is their business and it feels a bit gross discussing their marriage.

My concerns began years ago as I started to hear rumblings about how he treated employees and only grew from there. This stuff with the pool boy isn't great but it was just one of many things. Not the main thing. The media will eat that stuff up because that is what they do but I think most who have been around a while know this is much bigger than some wild story about a pool boy.

You know what? You do you Junior. (No pun intended ). Find something you love to do and you are good at and enjoy your life. You have more money than you could possibly need so wipe the dust of Liberty off your shoes and start off on your new adventure. You did what you did. They did what they did and now you are both free of each other. Rejoice in that and enjoy your new life

I know for a fact that he didn't want out, he wanted to keep his job. Once the bored made the decision to turn on him, he might have warmed a little to the idea. From experience, once you know the end is near, it is somewhat of a relief, from a mental perspective to move on. He is just trying to cover up his embarrassment at being fired. I am sure the size of his severance package soothed the hurt some as well.
I can't believe that he is still denying that he doesn't drink, or have an alcohol problem. That is the worst kept secret in the world.
Very sad.
IMHO.

Mr. Falwell is due his $1.25 million salary for two years, followed by a lump-sum payment of about $8 million, because of a clause in his contract that allowed him to resign with full pay if his responsibilities were curtailed, which they were when he was put on an indefinite leave of absence two weeks ago, the person said.

If there is truth to that photo he texted from his farm and the pool boy still has it....not good. I hope that is a lie. I really, really do. That is not a road anybody wants to go down.

I don't think the bored believed they would ever have to exercise the severance clause, so it wasn't a big deal at the time. I am pretty confident that they had the goods to fire him for cause, but in the best interest of the university, it was easier to just pay him off and move on. No need to drag it through the courts.
Hard to believe he is still speaking so many untruths.
IMHO.

Agree, but based on some of the things I have been told, literally nothing would surprise me.
(I need to get off of here for a while, this is very troubling).
Sad, sad,sad.

Honestly, this isn't surprising about his contract. Keep in mind the growth from a family business to Fortune 50 happened under his watch. Nobody at the university had a contract (in athletics, or elsewhere) when Jerry Jr. took over. He's the one who started giving contracts when others within the university were none the wiser. If you don't think he's going to make sure it is tilted in his direction then I don't know what to tell you.

Make no mistake, Jerry may act foolish, but he is indeed no fool. I would almost be disappointed if he did it any other way.
That is what made him good at what he did. These are lessons that needed to be learned. LU is at the big boy table now and the executives and BOT need to be able to match wit for wit. Jerry's job was to get the most appealing contract for himself as possible, it was the BOT'S job to push back and find middle ground--sounds like they weren't interested in negotiating.

Dude. What freaking world do you live in? You are all about believing the man will watch his wife making the beast with 2 backs with young men while he’s wearing a speedo. Yet you find the thought that coeds would flash him while on his farm beyond the pale. Dude. Just...dude
