Based off of his projects like Angel Armies, his daughters being at LU, and his growing love for LU after his health scare, I say Hugh Freeze knows his mission here, which is to set LU up as one of the top Go5 destinations. I don't think he is abandoning that mission anytime soon. I say he stays for at least 5 more years.

How many of you guys have let it "slip" to someone in your company that recruiters have been seeking you out. Even if you never have no intention of leaving your current company, its not a bad thing for your current employer to realize that competitors believe you are a valuable commodity.

It's entirely possible to be 100% happy where you are and have every intention for staying until you're ready to retire and at the same time take advantage of a new opportunity that provides opportunities you never thought possible.

It seems like a lot of people are leaning toward Mark Stoops for the FSU job. If that happens I could see Kentucky thinking about HCHF.

Well it seems as if silly season is starting mid-season. When a big domino falls, like FSU, others soon follow. If they don't fall, they are reinforced. As I stated earlier, Minnesota may open the checkbook for Fleck. They did, contract through 2026 announced this afternoon. Whenever FSU hires someone, another domino will fall. Kentucky next? Let's hope they don't reach all the way to Lynchburg.

With all due respect to HCHF, I don’t think he’s done enough to garner that kind of attention. Yet.

Any interest he gets would be based on what he did other places more than it would be based on what he's done here.

Sounds like this could be a show me then we go higher ...or
Maybe HF is not worried about the Benjamin's on this one? HF agreed to this amount when he could have taken much higher paying jobs so it could be about job satisfaction (rebuilding) rather than paydays.
Maybe, we are just cheap?

At this time I do not see this as a problem. After a few years of strong success this may be an issue but coaches priorities will determine that.

Cheap? Assuming it's right, it's almost twice as much as the highest sun belt coach, higher than any MAC coach, and ranks 2nd in CUSA. Plus, we are in a lower cost of living area I'd think. The OC position at Alabama pays 1.2 million right now; i doubt he turned down more lucrative OC positions.

Great link, FFG.

As for Coach Freeze, he is in an enviable position of pouncing for the right gig or chilling for another season here. If we secure bowl eligibility it is yet another feather in his cap that he still has it.

Which is why a job like FSU would have been/is/seems tempting. Kentucky or Vandy? Not so much

Good points. A few weeks ago people on this board were talking about CHF staying for at least full contract and now things change as soon as first major job comes available. Greg Marshall is turning down big jobs but WS is matching offers. I think LU can and will do that also.

Additionally, an early departure in his tenture will only reinforce the premise in such articles as that listed below.

Who is Julie Roys?
Why does any (Especially LU administration) care what she thinks?
Her timeline of events is off in small but significant ways

I am really confused as to why everyone thinks freeze will leave. He's in a five year contract at a school his family is very invested in, what says he won't stay all 5 seasons? What would happen to his contract if he left? Would he have to be bought out?

Man the fan base isnt gonna make through the freeze era. Might as well sit back and watch. His name is going to be tossed around on mid to low level p5s in acc sec big12 opening for as long as hes here unless he chooses to put it out which he hasnt. I get why u wouldnt do that even if your happy.

I think were good this year. If not and hes still the kind of guy that treats commitment that way where he leaves after one year then were better off without him anyway. That comes from a huge fan who hopes hes here a long time in me. That doesnt mean he will be here forever or even 5 years but given his situation i would hope for 3 years min but who knows.

Prob is if he doesnt come out and say something it going to hurt them in recruiting. I know for a fact its hurting us in recruiting with prunty and others right now. Vt hammered away at that fact on prunty until he decommitted. That and of course its a acc offer but he was pretty solidly committed from what i heard and that nugget helped break that.

The next month will tell us a lot about what he thinks of lu long term with some of these jobs that have popped up and how he handles it. So far hes done nothing to cause any of this other than a little bit awkward answer on clays show. A job like arkansas is the perfect litmus test for his commitment.

Arkansas is all that great of a job. Sure it's SEC, but when one thinks of SEC football, Arkansas is about 14th on the list.
