As I posted last week, I pay very little attention to recruiting, until LOI comes off Fax Machine. I don't get wrapped around the axle with recruits.

A few years back, I was at a high school coaches clinic in Hampton. I was in a conversation with a D1 coach from ACC school. He said that most coaches wish that these recruiting ranking folks, would go out of business.

OK, I have been playing recruiting class detective and have come up with a likely suspect. If this is the player, it is an even bigger catch than I could have imagined. Credit goes to FlamesHighontheTide for thinking of it first.

For starters, I went with the theory that the mysterious #6 in Overton's twitter pics is the guy. He is about the same height and several pounds heavier.
Next, I picked up on the hint that it might be a "package deal"
Then of course he must be a legit 4 star prospect.

6'5" 240 OLB
JUCO teammate of Elijah James, who we know was on campus, and is a likely commit
4 star player, who is rated by Rivals as THE #1 JUCO PROSPECT IN THE 2019 CLASS

Chester Graves

If in fact Chester Graves is our 4 star guy then know this: His original top 3 were Missouri, Bama and Ole Miss. This guy will make an immediate impact on our team from day one barring any kind of injury or unknown setback.

Our defense was horrendous last year so it couldn't get much worse. But, if we are playing with hypotheticals check this potential defensive depth chart:

DE - Jessie Lemonier (Indy All conference selection)
DT - Elijah James (3 star Juco)
NG - William Green Jr. (3 star Juco So.
DE - Austin Lewis (Freshman All-American)
LB - Chester Graves (4 star Juco #1juco rated by rivals)
LB - Solomon Ajayi (Senior Leader)
DB - Emanuel Dabney (3 star juco and 4 star out of high school)
DB - Bejour Wilson (led team in INT's last year)
S - Isaac Steele (2nd in INT's last year)
S - Nakota Creer (2 star and NMSU bounce-back)
Spur - Aubrey Williams (3 star out of high school who Freeze is high on)

Could you say most improved defense in 2019???

Are you implying that this would be the starters or all of what we've received for this class? Don't for get Monday, he may receive some playing time (might be put as a red shirt and play 4 games).

Interesting 10 man Defense with a NG and 2 middle backers - so you would take Graves off the line ( OLB ) and move him to middle LB? ( he actually moves like he could possibly play back there - hard to tell with no tape on him covering anyone )

Since we run a 4-2-5 this would be the likely position for him. Freeze being SEC minded likes bigger D-Lineman and though Lewis was probably 250 at best last year I assume he will bulk up to prolly a good 265 and keep his athleticism.

This is just my educated guess on our starters for Syracuse and I could be way off.

According to Hugh we will run a 4-2-5 primary. Like any D we will transiton to other schemes if their O plan requires it.

Here is my next educated guess:

Javonte Richardson - Juco WR from same school as Elijah James. Both were committed to Kentucky and both decommitted on the same day.

Javonte is a 4 star WR according to rivals and very high 3 star on 247(#2 rated juco WR)

Can we confirm if we are still in the mix for the kid?

If so its got to be a flip. There were less than 10 uncommitted 4 stars.
I'll confirm all that. There may be a package deal too. Still murky on that though.
So If I am reading this right, you can confirm that the 4-Star is a HS player?

Kid could be coming out of hs; could also already have been committed to a school, likely near by. This is going to be BIG, like 10 times big!! We shall see what the good news is 8)

Looks like Western Iowa CC has become quite the landing spot for high-end talent with NCAA qualifying issues. Martin Veinberg, the 6'9" 325 OT from Finland who we offered is headed there. He was just short a couple of core courses, so he should only be there a year.

Could be him, but if so, then who is the mysterious #6? That kid is at least 235-240.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I believe that is Overton’s brother who is a 2023 I believe. Think about it. Why would a recruit pose with someone else’s mom?

That was one of the 5 that i identified in my list on last page. I dunno he just named a top 5 like 4 days ago.

Mingo supposedly visited georgia this weekend s it couldnt be him.

Griffin has announced his final 4

Henry the TE is still signing with arkansas.

So i whiffed unless its moore or asante.

Thas has been the most difficult thing to unearth since Jb brought mckay back and nobody knew who it was until he walked in.

I am seriously beginning to think it is Javonte Richardson out of the same Iowa Juco school as Elijah James. And I will continue to think this until someone with info guides me otherwise 8)
