You suck at everything. I wouldn’t give you a second chance at the Express Lane at Wal Mart. 12 Items or less mean 12 Items or Less. Not 15 items.
If you're perfect, you don't need second chances. I don't expect you to understand 8)

It's also possible that we feel we can be anti-Freeze when we are discussing a public figure.

Elevating or tearing down people based on their wealth, success, or platform should equally be frowned upon as Christians. God is no respecter of persons.

There are consequences to sin. There is forgiveness. Entitlement is a bad thing and so is vengeance. Somewhere in between is making a sound hiring decision.
So what are you suggesting? That he should never coach again? He should go to work at a factory somewhere? Some environment where his every minute can be accounted for? What is his proper penance according to you? What life must be now lead?

You've obviously not read anything else I've posted on this topic. I'll let you catch up and figure out if you shot before you aimed.
You had me discombobulated by your WV reference. I was driving when I wrote this and had you confused with someone else. Apologies extended for any offense given.
But leave WVU out of this! :D

Hate to burst your bubble, but Liberty ain’t the top of the food chain.

Consider this: Liberty has NO SHOT at a coach of this caliber without the moral transgressions her committed several years ago. Now LU can get himc and his redemption story, while only a burgeoning FBS program? There is risk, just like there is with any imperfect human hired for the job. I think there is as much or more reward from this as any other option I’ve heard so far.

What!!!???? Liberty isn't the top of the food chain!!!???

It wouldn't be an LU coaching search without people thinking we are a much bigger deal than we really are

I think the risk lies in the recruiting violations, not his moral failure with his wife.

*Top of the food chain at any institution that would consider him for the HC role, in which case, LU is the only one doing so.

He has good credentials, nobody's doubting that, but just to land him because we can doesn't mean we should. He's not even a full year and a half out from resigning at Ole Miss.

Its the 15 Level One Violations that are not necessarily moral issues, but lack of control of a program. The impact of that here at LU would be detrimental to our program. We need a guy that has proven he can run a clean program and not stunt our growth at this most crucial time.
This is what concerns me most as well. I watched the HF convo appearance and I believe him to be genuine. I also trust IM to fully vet him and all of the other candidates.

All things considered I would feel a whole lot more comfortable with Streeter. I realize he has never run his own program; however he has had a chance to learn from one of the best in the business for a number of years.

What is the Biblical amount of time is required before he should coach again?

So, I've read a lot of comments about hiring Hugh Freeze, both positive and negative. I also just watched the full convocation with him, his wife, and his pastor. I am in no position to judge this man based on his past because I am a sinner too seeking forgiveness and redemption. I could rewrite all the bible verses people have posted because they all have valid points. I also agree with Jon with the fact that although we can receive forgiveness and forgive ourselves of sin it does not remove the consequences of it. I do not condone what he did in his past. However, we are at a unique position in our football program where we are taking steps to become relevant in the FBS and to do that we need a coach who will help us continue to strive toward that goal while remaining vigilant in staying true to our Christian values. Not everyone is perfect. I'm sure Brandon Streeter isn't perfect either, but what's to say we can't help a man restore his good name? Yes, the recruiting violations are glaring but if he is true to his faith like he was talking about at convocation, I have faith he won't make the same mistake again. Plus, I believe he will have more accountability here at Liberty because of the Christian environment around him. Will the hire receive backlash? Of course! When have we ever made decisions that pleased everyone and were politically correct? If we hire him, I'll be happy. If we don't, I'll be happy because I have hope that the people involved in the search are praying and asking for God's guidance on who their next football coach will be which will lead to the right hire.
