No, the program is ready, the coaches aren’t.

Losing this game isn't too huge in the big picture. Losing to UMass and New Mexico State is big deal. We should have won those 2 games

The players certainly didn’t look it. None of them played with an extra level of hype or enthusiasm. None played like they had something to prove. Not saying anything on the coaching side but can you point to one player and say THAT guy came to play? Calvert? AGG? Anyone?

ODU and UVA would focus more attention. You can only circle do many. That’s the difference between FCS and FBS

That’s on the coaches for not having their guys ready to go.

I expected Auburn to score. What I fid not expect was the total lack of offense. UMass scored 27 on Georgia today and gained almost 400 yards of offense. Auburn only scored scored 10 points against Georgia and gained about a quarter less yards than UMass did. :dontgetit

Tillman's sack of the Auburn QB will be something he'll be telling his grandkids about when he is our age. :fbplayer :blahblah :oldhag

will we break 10k in attendance next week? I already see a few students/alumni on twitter and facebook saying how bad the football team is.

Next week was already going to be poorly attended with the students gone. They now have no reason to come back for the game.

The big test for me is if we break 10k for Norfolk State.

Yes and no. Coaches have to have a game plan. But players have to have desire and energy. Regardless of how bad a game plan may or may not be a players efort and energy is 100% on them. Especially on a stage like that a player should be super hyped.

They’re not lying. It shows the quality of our coaching and staff. Do they care what we think as supporters of the program? I believe we know the answer.

I don’t disagree with you. But that lack of effort/energy could be a sign of a coach losing his locker room.

Big test for me is where is the locker room at? Has the team checked out?

Edit : ha. Just typing that

he shouldn't have done that, you can only circle one. I'm gonna start an investigation.

If only Jerry had the mindset of wanting to have a winnable program, since he’s close with the president and all...

I love how quick it is being said that we are a bad football team. If we win our last two games and I still believe we will then our record will be 6-6. Not bad at all for a first year FBS transition team and according to recent transitions our record would be near the top of best first year records. I am very disappointed in the effort and execution today. I thought we would lose by 2 scores and boy was I wrong. I also thought we could run the football against them today and again was I wrong. Auburn played inspired today and hats off to them for their execution.

All this to say, 2 games left to get to .500 for the season which again is not a bad start to an FBS transition. I do want to see us move on from Gill after this season because just being at 6-6 or 7-5 is not where we want to be as a program.

Auburn played vanilla today
But you were spot on saying it is disappointing to see the effort and execution from LU today. Granted the vast talent gap may have something to do with the execution but should have 0 to do with the effort

I’ve said for three years I’m more concerned with how we play under Gill than our record. Even in some of our wins, we have looked like a bad football team.

I have never said LU is a bad team, we play bad at times. I have said I think we could be a better team with new leadership.
