The correct answer to BJ´s question is Ian Parmly, who had a cup of coffee last year. Prior that it had been 22 years since Doug Brady in 95.

Texas missed out on a great pr opportunity when they traded Ryan. They could have had Cordell, Texas Ranger in the outfield.

Been watching Ryan on TV in Charlotte this year playing for the AAA ball club.

Depending on if you want to count it or not, a guy named Josh Rupe pitched in 17 games for Liberty during the 2001 season as a freshman. He then transferred to a JuCo school - Louisburg College - and was drafted by the White Sox.

Rupe wound up pitching for three teams (Texas, KC, Baltimore) across six seasons, and logged a 5-3 record with a 5.06 ERA in 90 games across 154.2 IP.

LU's website doesn't have info from the 2001 season, but here's a news report from ODU indicating that Rupe was, in fact, at Liberty:

Good catch. I hadn't realized that Rupe spent a season witht he Flames. I remember him during his Rangers stint.
