Haize:

It's ironic that you mentioned your aunt's long-winded ramblings on about nothing because that description seems to fit your last 8 point post perfectly. After I was scolded about Reeves, those sensitivities and charactor traits really caught my attention to the point where I'm begining to wonder about your gender and your age :)

As far as keepin' the thing rebuilt goes: Certainly that would be the goal, but obviously not the norm as far as LU's D-1 football and men's basketball history is concerned.

Whether or not the adminsitration gives a former Big South champion coach another try remains to be seen. Personally, my guess is that he still has a chance to be back again next year and how things finish out and what the AD foresees going into next year will weigh heavily in that process.

Rambling would be an unorganized, illogical compilation of thoughts words and ideas with no logical end point or conclusion. Since there were 8 sorted points, each specifically addressing an individual topic, not sure how it could be rambling. Glad to see that you had good counter points though. Chock full of facts and historical precedence as always.

I don't think that I could describe it any better that you just did: unorganized compilation of thoughts........rebuilding engines-to-offended by mention of Reeves-to-backpeddling-to-favorite aunt ramblings-to-something incomprehensible about Dawkins-to-losing players to graduation, and finally-to-some guy before Wooden who apparently lost his job after winning a title..I think?

How can a person possibly respond to all of that?

That is why I put it point by point. I thought that such a simple classification method would be easy to grasp. Perhaps next time I could go with some pictures or a pop up book for you.

Haize:

The reoccuring notion that you alone and those whom you agree with possess true facts and logic is hypersensitive at best and truly pompous and narrow-minded in its ugliest form.

A truly open-minded discussion regarding Dunton's future would neccessitate a counter to the majority view on this board and it could also include some speculation regarding several unknowns concerning the ultimate adminstrative decision on the matter.

Many on this board whole-heartily believe that Dunton will be terminated, but when the real decision is made by the real evaluators, they may take into consideration that he won a Big South title back in '04 and Dunton may also gain support if his evaluators believe that the prospect for a title in '07 appears promising.

Dude, you're all over the map with this stuff. And it may come off as clever to you, but to others it may look a liitle too much like condensation and self-gratification.

You certainly seem to have a great deal of sports trivia in that brain of yours and I'm sure that in the proper context it can illuminate a conversation.

FACT - Liberty Basketball has "slightly" underachieved the past 2 years
FACT - The coach has taken us from 04 conference Champs to 2nd worst in 3rd worst conference (SJ)
FACT - The coach has not had a great history of connecting with fans
FACT - When a team plays with no care as they are regardless of who is at fault there needs to be a change.

Any team who looks this bad right now, hasnt won on the road in a year in a half, and is losing their best player at the end of the year cannot be open minded about keeping the captian who has brought them here. last I checked Karcher lost alot of games, lost his players confidence and respect, and he didnt make it to the end of the year. Right now they are in good shape because they had talent and brought in the right staff to get them where they are. Dunton deserves no more time here, and with a loss tonite we should just start from scratch.

Decisions will be made on the basis on the direction of the program. Clearly anyone would agree that we are one of the worst teams in the nation for the second year in a row. Even with the 04 championship, this program is and has been headed nowhere for a few years.

I'm just hoping that some of you don't dive into the James River if the dreaded Dunton happens to be pacing the sidelines again for LU next season. :)
