So, I have contemplated the whole Art Briles to LU ordeal. With that said, I don't see McCaw even thinking about hiring Briles. There seems to be information out there that leads us to believe Briles and McCaw left on bad terms and with how deeply involved Briles was in the Baylor scandal that doesn't surprise me. McCaw was not even closely involved with that situation and the result of that evidence showed itself in him being dropped from further court cases or questioning. All that to say, McCaw would be foolish to even ponder the thought of hiring Briles.

As much as I want to give Streeter a shot, I am beginning to agree with what a lot of y'all are saying in regards to an older more experienced coach who could deal with the baggage of LU and wouldn't see themselves coaching for more than 5 to 6 more years.

With that said, how old is Coach Eric Taylor now? He has been at the D3 school in Pennsylvania for some time now. He obviously hasn't been fired and we know he can handle a lot of crap! Maybe he can pull ole Tim Riggins to be our. . . well just having Tim Riggins would make the team interesting for sure.

Briles was dropped from the same case, under the same deal. Briles also received a letter from Baylor's general counsel, stating that they were not aware of any "direct" implication in cover up or knowingly playing someone implicated. I tend to agree that McCaw may want to distance himself from Briles, for all these reasons. But, if they spin it, i can see them touting those reasons, plus pointing out how Devos is correcting many of the T9 deficiencies that led to this problem in the first place. Really, it's all Obama's fault.

Coach Taylor fell off the radar after last season. You're right though, I Don't know that I've ever seen him show the public that the pressure was getting to him. What happens in private might be another story.

McCaw’s list of HFC hires isn’t super long, but he gets the job done. Briles was an “outside the box” hire for sure. It’s fun to talk about, but I am increasingly under the impression it will be a name we haven’t mentioned or thought of yet.

What about TCU's Curtis Luper. The guy has tons of accompishments, is a veteran, and really seems to be about more than football....he is a mentor. I think I saw where he looked at a HC position somewhere but backed out. Not sure what the story is there. But he seems like he would be a good face for LU and is well respected in the college football circle. Good recruiter too!
