It was definitely a bad look to be talking trash after the worst home Big South loss in school history. But I would not go as far as you did and say that the players and coaches do not care about the game tonight.
'm sure they care about tonight and I am sure they cared about CSU but they sure didn't show up when it mattered most and put the effort into the CSU game that proves they cared enough to but the effort required to win against quality opponents.

I put that more on the coaching staff philosophy but some of it is on the players as well.
Do you need to look for someone wearing a Safety Pin?
I don't get the reference and I think that is probably a good thing

Amen, dadgummit!

He doesn't even come out and say it actually bothered HIM "One of the things a lot of people are not crazy about is their players spend a lot of time mouthing off at you"

meow

You can also be sure that as football trash talk is rated, our guy's is definately PG No way TG would stand for profanity or anything off color

What a stupid comment to make about a team before you are getting ready to play them. You are pretty much admitting that their trash talk gets under your skin.

Oh, it may be happening, but not where Gill can hear it, and I feel pretty confident in my assertion that the stuff our guys say is on the mild side as football trash talk goes, which makes Moglia's meowing all the more feline

I want to say that this is one :oldhag Flame Fan who badly wants a win in this "meaningless game" I would love nothing more than to send them to the SBC with 3 straight losses to us, and speaking of trash talk, Coastal's AD and president did a bit of it a couple of years ago, but I guess middle aged university executives are held to a lower standard than college athletes

For me, I am not offended. Mr. Postman formed an opinion and posted it to a message board. I formed an opinion about his post and posted it. Like others, I don't agree with his opinion and that's it. As far as enlightening Mr. Postman, I think my opinion is based on more substantive information than a few twitter posts.

Hope to see everyone in Myrtle Beach tonight. Go Flames!

Bennett and his dogs would have had a better chance against LU tonight . Moglia is facing 0-3 as an exit present , and currently has a job because of his money and stature in my opinion.

How irrelevant has coastal been in football ?

If Coastal has been irrelevant then what have we been?

I want to beat them but I also respect where they are as a program. Beat Coastal started because we wanted to be what they are. We surpassed them in football for a year or two at the end of Bennett's reign but they have been ahead of us the past three years. I'd trade places with them in a heartbeat.

So, if we beat them for the 3rd time in those 3 years, can you still say with a straight face that they are ahead of us :dontgetit

Never mind, of course you can

Moglia has gotten a lot of attention and kept his team high in the polls by putting together gaudy records against cupcakes To their credit, they have done OK in the playoffs, but a couple of those wins were a result of getting an easy draw because of seedings they really didn't deserve

Coastal Carolina has lost to CSU 2 out of the last 3 years. Coastal Carolina has lost to Liberty 2 out of the last 2 years. You would be threatening to cancel your BeachChickenClub membership, and be on every message board firing their entire staff, athletic administration, ripping them for any misstep politically and socially, and letting everyone know that coastal says dirty words on the field.

Seems to be a double standard when you look and assess CCU and LU.

This year is a throwaway for them. Nothing they do this years matters. In a transition year, I'd feel the same way.

In their shoes last year, I would've wanted to see change but not at the head coach. You change coordinators first and when that doesn't work, you look at the head coach. That's what they did. If they struggle the next couple years in the Sun Belt I could validate a change.

Also - my standards are not wins over individual programs. My standard has always been top 20 program and playoff success. Coastal has that and we don't.

Moglia is a pansy and im shocked he would provide bulletin board material like that. Im obviously not happy with Gill and support a change but in all honestyour we have as many big wins if not more than they do the last 3 years. They have been playing cream puff after cream puff and played that into an invite

I also have been to the last 3 ccu games and I was field level at ccu last time. I haven't seen much that we don't see in other big games. Now Jon is exactly right about the cursing. Our players use plenty of it. It seems to be the worst at the skill position players to me. It's always been embarrassing to me but that was true under rocco and Gill. It's a tough situation and I'm not sure you can do too much more than what I've seen theach coaches do.

Here is the article that everyone seems to be referencing in regards to Coach Joe's comments about our trashtalking:

CCU’s contentious rivalry with Liberty will conclude on national television

BY ALAN BLONDIN
ablondin@thesunnews.com

CONWAY - With just two games remaining in its final season with a Football Championship Subdivision schedule, Coastal Carolina can deliver a parting shot Thursday to what has become the most disliked rival in the Chanticleers’ 14-year existence.

Liberty is the only current Big South Conference school that CCU has a losing record against, going 6-7 against the Flames with losses in each of the past two seasons.

But the animosity goes deeper than the unfavorable record.

Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia said that while he respects Liberty head coach Turner Gill, athletic director Jeff Barber and the university as a whole, he has less respect for the way the Flames conduct themselves against CCU.

“There is a good degree of intensity that winds up going along with [Liberty games],” Moglia said. “One of the things that a lot of people are not crazy about is their players … spend a lot of time mouthing off at you. They’re doing that at the beginning of the game, they’re doing it at halftime, they’re doing it during the game, they’re doing it during warmups. I don’t find that particularly classy, so I won’t miss that part.”
