I completely agree with you on this. Both have to improve and I would love to see the RBs show out as well. Hopefully Probert will have the chance to kick a few FGs as well. Experience for him is vital as we move on in the season.

The big concern here should be Fools Gold. If Masha puts up good numbers with his legs and TO's say 10/21 for 285 hrs, what do you do? Especially, if a lot of those yes at YAC? I would think the ground game should be dominate. So that would lead them to load the box. That would lead to nice quick passes which will eventually connect and lead to a big gain because LU has better receivers. How do you judge Masha on this game?

That's the concern with this entire season. We could very well win the league and make the playoffs and still have many of the serious issues we currently have. It's a weird place to be.

I get what you are trying to say, but that's a weird stance to take. I will be majorly concerned if Masha is <50% completion %age, even if he throws for 300 yards and 4 TDs.

I am looking for >60%, 225+ yards and 2+ TDs. Does it truly matter if it's on screens and short passes? No, not at all. If that's the way the offense is supposed to be run, then great. If it's efficient and effective, who cares how points are put on the board?

Edit: efficiency and accuracy are more important than stat stuffers for this game.

Great point. I miss the days when I didn't have to hold my breath if we were going to muff every punt.

Wynton Jackson isn't walking through that door.

Wasn't Wynton a Karcher recruit? I think he played during Karcher's last year and then Rocco inherited him and made him a returner. He did muff and fumble it sometimes...but other times it seems like he would always break free for 50 yards or a touchdown. There was no in between with him. He was really exciting to watch, either way.

I actually think special teams improved somewhat...no kicks were blocked and there was a heads up play by the recovery of the punt that led to our first TD. The safety thing was terrible, though.

The safety and the FG kicker were awful
The rest was very good

He was a Karcher recruit. The large majority of those 07/08 championship teams were Karcher recruits.

Kick out of bounds, delay of game knocking us out of range. The biggest problem is that weve had several of these lapses per game the last couple years. Parker i believe fielded a kickoff going out of bounds on the 2 last year ha. :dontgetit

I noticed last year that our coordinators (especially on offense) contradicted Gill in press conferences a lot but didn't think a ton about it. This year I'm still noticing it so I figured it'd be worth keeping track of.
“(Buckshot) will play one series (against Jacksonville),” Gill said. “When that will be, we haven’t decided that yet.”

Dailey wasn’t as clear on how much playing time Buckshot will get against Jacksonville. “We haven’t sat down and discussed it, in totality, for this week. We’re going to let this game plan for this week play itself out and make a decision at the conclusion of the week.”

Interesting. IMO what you are seeing is the Big Picture wish with Gill and the day to day reality with the OC. It happens.
I DO know that 'Buckshot' has got to go. 'Buck' or 'Calvert' is fine but 'Buckshot' is horrible for legitimacy. It's why actors have stage names.

It makes sense why Dailey blames the QB and Gill would say it's both the WRs and QB.

Agreed...its one thing to be fair and balanced even as a fan...this is not what I would call fair and balanced
