Georgetown has been charitable to the Big South this year. Giving out 6 figure checks and W's as a bonus. Radford and UNCA got em. Add in football member Monmouth beating them by double digits in DC and it has been quite a bad finish of calendar year 2015 for JTIII.

I know most of them are freshmen, but can't we at least learn the names of our starters? #44 is Ryan Hiepler.

Maxwell played only 5 minutes in the first half. He was 1-1 from the floor, didn't have any fouls and didn't appear to be hurt. :dontgetit

Maxwell's worst game of the year. His minutes may have been limited somewhat by his minor injury, but that may have been just as well because in a game we ended up losing by 7, during the 12 minutes he did play we were outscored by 29 points.

Whenever Maxwell touched the ball, he was immediately TRIPLE teamed!

Their defense encouraged passes to the high post and then collapsed - that's how they got the majority of their 15 steals and came close to getting several more no matter who was receiving the pass in that position. It seemed it was either a 1-2-2 zone or a 1-3-1 that gave us fits. I still like the effort and the fight even after being down 21-22 points.

Asheville's tallest starter was 6'5". Thomas controlled the boards and scored 27 points mostly on putbacks off offensive rebounds and he is only 6'3" but he had some hops. We have few natural rebounders and with Maxwell on the bench we struggle to rebound. Homesley held his own while playing the 4. He's got good length and it seems like a lot of heart. Once the team gets stronger and more mature and hopefully in the future a little taller we should be okay.

12 stitches in the tongue is minor?

I wasn't aware of that, and I'm sure it was painful, but you don't normally think of an injury as major if the player can return to the game.

On Maxwell's injury:

Liberty’s leading scorer Evan Maxwell played a season-low 12 minutes and finished with four points and no rebounds. McKay said Maxwell bit down on his tongue in the opening minutes and needed stitches.

It was the second time in three contests Maxwell required stitches. His chin was bloodied in last Sunday’s contest against VCU and required seven stitches.

“He told me he was ready and the doctors cleared him,” McKay said. “He didn’t look right and I went with a smaller lineup.”

I'll have more on McKay's comments on not playing Maxwell as much in the second half coming soon. To catch everyone up, he said he didn't want to put Maxwell out there and have his confidence diminish if he was hesitant with the tongue injury. Cited passing on open shots in the paint when he typically finishes strong at the rim.

I don't know who's cooking the attendance books, but I would say there were about 300-500 at the game, maybe less.
The box score said 1,300. I noticed that before but never thought the athletic department at LU would do something like
that. After the past few games, I believe someone is purposely having it done.

There was a surprisingly large number on the Baptist side in the padded seats. And UNCA brought quite a few fans who were very vocal sitting behind their own bench.

LU is doing a poster-sized free program this year, and #44 Ryan Heipler was on the cover, which also surprised me, considering this was Dawson's first home game of his career.
