You can imagine the reaction of SumItUp and I and perhaps Atrain if he can survive Dallas that long.

It is easy to fly into DFW to either airport (DFW or DAL). For those unaware, Denton is in the furthest northern reaches of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. SumItUp in OK is closer to Denton than I am down here in Houston.

The game will likely have to be either 9/17 or 9/24 because the Mean Green open up on 9/3 against SMU and then head to the Swamp to face the Gators on 9/10.

Athletic Director Jeff Barber has stated he wants the Flames to play 2 FBS opponents each season. Liberty played North Carolina and Appalachian State in 2014 and will play West Virginia and Georgia State in 2015.

Liberty is also scheduled to play at Baylor in 2017.

As of right now, we have 5 away games for 2016: Virginia Tech, North Texas, Coastal Carolina, Presbyterian and Kennesaw State. the only home games we know for sure are the 3 conference games: Monmouth, Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern

Why did you just put Gloria Gainor's "I Will Survive," in my head?

And I can survive in Dallas, I just don't want to. We'll likely be in Baltimore or Philadelphia by that point in time. I'm able, just not willing

Now to snag a couple solid (and winnable) FCS home games. I'm sure JB wants six home games but if we can get a couple good draws in our remaining home dates, I can live with having 5 home games

As of today here is what the schedule looks like (see Future Schedules or FlamesNation for dates):

Home
Jacksonville
Robert Morris
Monmouth
Gardner-Webb
Charleston Southern

Away
Virginia Tech
North Texas
Kennesaw State
Presbyterian
Coastal Carolina

So if we can pick up a mid-upper level FCS at home for game #11 it looks like another very good schedule

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Big ups to FlamesNation for spotting that we have been bumped from UNT's 2016 schedule and replaced with a game against Bethune-Cookman after Florida asked the Mean Green to push back their game a week. Ugh.

Hope we can get a G5 FBS at this rather late juncture PLUS a sixth home game

Bummer, that would have been the closest LU football game for me. I was looking forward to taking a caravan of people to the game.

I feel for ya SumItUp, its nice to have LU games close to home. Maybe we could schedule a game with Sam Houston St., Texas St. or lets go big and go for Turner Gill's alma mater! That would be pretty sweet!

I know that Coach Gill eally has wanted ot get more Texas dates on the schedule since we spend so much time here recrutiing. Hopefully we are able to fill the date with another opponent in the Lone Star State.

I cringe thinking of the pressure Baylor is under right now to stop playing FCS schools. Hopefully we hang on to the 2017 date.

Is it possible we play Coastal twice next year?

Maybe a home and home. I think it would be a good idea.

Plus looking at what Barber just tweeted.

Im not sure that his tweet necessarily means we could play Coastal twice next year, but anything's possible I guess.

I'm actually glad. I think that it is VERY bad scheduling to play two 1a teams each year.

I hope that it is replaced with an fcs game against a swac, meac, nec, or partiot school.

another fcs win would have helped us more than the Georgia state win this year.

Georgia State is horrible, but they are a far better win than any SWAC, MEAC, NEC, or Patriot team.
