I assumed he meant that, but if so, he is wrong. Moglia has not given ANY money to CCU, and is on record as saying he will not as long as he is an employee there. For their sake I hope that Coastal is not counting on any huge amount when he leaves either, because he is neither an alum nor a ¨lifer¨and has no real reason to do so.

There are legitimate practical and ethical reasons for his not donating money to CCU. They are his employer. If he were to dump a bunch of money on them there would at the very least be the perception that he wouldn´t have to answer to anyone and in situations like that perception can quickly become reality. I really don´t expect him to be there much longer as he clearly has higher aspirations than coaching in the SBC, and that is going to be CCU´s ceiling for the forseeable future. I believe he is a really good football coach, but IMHO his true genius has been how he has been able to accumulate a gaudy record and elevate his program´s profile nationally by playing a cupcake schedule and somehow not be called to task on it by pollsters, peers and the media.

They elevated their program on the field. There were cupcakes along the way, but they didn't get real respect until they beat Montana.

There is absolutely no reason to drop them in the polls. Stop obsessing about Coastal.
