If I could take his offense and throw it 60 times a game, I'd be a happy camper.

They get 2 weeks and lots of game film to prepare for us, so I would not be surprised to see us throw a few new wrinkles in preparing for that matchup.

I liked it for the most part. There was one that was 4th and 5 or so, and there were 2 mins left in the half. They were on their own 45, and he went for it. They didnt get it, and NDSU scored 7 before half, and had a chance to score 10, but they missed a field goal. With that little time left on the clock, you make them drive the length of the field in under 2 mins.

That will be critical since their coach wants to run 50 plays by halftime which will not allow for substitutions. Our defense will have to respond with speed and endurance.
The achilles heel of a hurry up offense is 3 & outs. If Liberty gets a few in a row and grinds it down field, suddenly its Montana that is sucking air

From the sounds of it, we will need to get 4 and overs, not 3 and outs. I think this game seems a little more scary now that Montana has proven they may not need a year or two under their new system. The fact that they get an extra week to prepare for their trip to LU makes me think this game favors them... I hope our team comes firing on all cylinders though. Woodrum and the offensive line will need to have a big day to keep their offense off the field. I say run it straight up the gut and overpower them with our big boys and then when we hit the latter stages of the 3rd and 4th, turn Abner loose.

Villanova was 4 down team last year due to having no field goal kicker. No doubt it wii be tough stopping Montana 4 in a row. Have to make them pay, especially if they get stupid with it on their own side of the field.

Someone hit on it earlier...we will probably win TOP, but we need to win the possession battle. if both sides get 10 possessions, we cannot have any 0s in our 10. Even if we get 3 field goals and 7 TDs or 7 field goals and 3 TDs, we have to put 0s up on defense. they are one of I think 3 teams we can't get in a shootout with

First you say we have to score EVERY TIME WE HAVE THE BALL. Then you say we can´t get in a shootout with them. :nod  :banghead :guntohead

we can get in a shootout with anyone on our schedule. I was as the app state game last year when we got in to a shootout and won. We have the talent.

Against Montana, I truly believe it will come down to who creates a couple turnovers. Our offense should be one of the best in FCS, and honestly might be in the discussion for the #1 spot. Our defense is younger and less experienced, and it will really depend on some guys like Avery James and Nick Newman making some plays. I don't think we really were even able to appreciate what Jacob Hagen did last year, it was pretty incredible. Have to get some take away ability generated from the new guys.
